A card or elevator pitch was suggested to list the six reasons for someone to become an associate member. The possibility of re-involving some former members who have left the club for various reasons was discussed. In general, we felt that the program could be used to entice these former friends to return to the fold. These suggestions, as well as a final review of our program, will be discussed at the next board meeting. We can start to use this program as a tool for membership immediately. It is a test program and we should expect some adjustments will be necessary as we go forward. Our 2011/12 membership emphasis programs at St. Marys and for Moraga businesses will utilize this test program.

Frank May lead a discussion about a new Associate Member program that we hope will expand our membership roles over the next couple of years. The Associate Member program is offered by Rotary International as an exploratory process for 225 clubs to try out over the next two years. Some general guidelines were published by RI but the individual clubs have a lot of flexibility in these test implementations. Several members of our club met earlier this week to discuss the implementation details for our club. Frank handed out a document that describes the proposed guidelines for being an Associate Member of Moraga Rotary. This document is attached below. The ultimate goal is to move any associate members to permanent members of the club. There are some financial and event attendance requirements for an associate member. This is a program to ease entry into Rotary and is not a substitute for full membership. There was some discussion around the proposed $50 annual membership fee. There was also a suggestion to
