Job Senior Construction Engineer I

Description:
Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction
Engineering work within a specific engineering discipline for a
Particular area of the project. Provides engineering assistance to
Superintendents, directs assigned personnel in meeting cost and time
Schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality and assures
Results meet design requirements.

On a large project, independently performs assigned activities in one

Discipline, interfacing with other disciplines in all areas of the
Jobsite.
On a small to medium-sized project, functions as a lead discipline
Engineer, coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing
With other areas/disciplines on the jobsite.

Provide technical direction and assistance to Electrical Superintendents

And crafts;
-Directs assigned personnel in meeting safety, quality, schedule and
Costs
- Perform inspections of all electrical work in progress on a continual
Basis and complete final checkout of electrical installations to ensure
Quality and conformance to specifications and codes prior to turnover to
Client for startup
- Assist project controls and supervision in the establishment of
Detailed work plans and mini-schedules
- Perform takeoffs and initiate and track field purchased materials for
Electrical commodities
- Coordinate and document client and vendor required verifications of
Instrument/electrical installations and tests
- Assist the technical coordination the activities of the lock-out and
Tag-out program
- Coordinate with vendor Technical Advisors as required
- Coordinate with Engineering to resolve drawing and set-route issues
- Inspect permenant plant materials during the receiving process to
Ensure they meet project standards and drawings
- Issue Field Material Requisition(s) for purchase of permanent plant
Materials
- Coordinate and inspect subcontractors in the electrical field;
- Experience in construction and technical inspection in the areas of
Installation and testing of electrical systems.
 - Must be familiar with National Electrical codes and NEMA standards
for
Electrical installations.

Skills Required: Basic Qualification & Experience:

-B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 6 years experience
in construction/technical implementation of electrical activities or
equivalent experience.
-Familiarity with automation tools.
-Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database
applications.
-Must be familiar with current industry quality standards and have a good working knowledge of Building codes for
installation and design standards.
