Project Abstract

Application Architecture:The base UI of the I-Map Development is created using JSP web pages (.jsp files). User controls are also used to create dynamic page content, such as the list of most popular items. These pages are implemented by using the most flexible in the web applications that are nothing but JSP pages. The data for the I-Map Development in Mysql database and accessed via stored procedures. The database code to access these stored procedures is then encapsulated in a component layer.

Technical details of product or method:Performance evolution of product: we define speed in terms

of screen responsiveness, the number of clicks to access the attractions information, and the average 5 seconds it takes to bring up information and move from screen to screen.

Pros and cons of product with respect to existing technology: Pros:

1. I-Map developed in open source technologies (J2EE, Tomcat and MySQL) so that we will save money for buying software licenses. 2. I-Map supports good portability because developing in J2EE technologies. 3. I-Map supports good scalability because deploying in Tomcat server.

Cons:
1. Very difficult to get support for open source technologies (J2EE, Tomcat and MySQL) Confidential 7/24/2011 Page 2

Project Abstract
2. Tomcat doesn't provide the entire JEE stack and is much lighter weight to deploy and keep running

Rough technical specification: I-Map product developed as Model

controller view architecture.

Model: The model object knows about all the data that need to be displayed. It is
model who is aware about all the operations that can be applied to transform that object. It only represents the data of an application. The model represents enterprise data and the business rules that govern access to andupdates of this data. Model is not aware about the presentation data and how that data will be the displayed to the browser.

Project Abstract

Plans of implementation: Approximate cost of product or method developed: We

have used water fall method for I-MAP product since it is a small product. Waterfall model is suitable for smaller products. The advantage of waterfall development is that it allows for departmentalization and managerial control. A schedule can be set with deadlines for each stage of development and theoretically, be delivered on time. Development moves from concept, through design, implementation, testing, installation, troubleshooting, and ends up at operation and maintenance. Each phase of development proceeds in strict order, without any overlapping or iterative steps.

Potential beneficiaries or customers: I-MAP product is used by

various people. Hotels Guides Tourists Travels
