This project will provide information necessary for the Tribes to undertake significant energy efficiency improvements in Tribal buildings and help the Tribes meet a major objective of its Flathead Reservation Comprehensive Resources Plan to implement energy conservation measures in all future construction projects and in existing Tribal facilities. This project will support energy assessments of 44 tribally-owned buildings and assist the Tribes efforts to reduce the amount of energy used in their buildings. The project will train staff members to become energy assessors and weatherization technicians who specialize in energy efficient building construction and energy saving technologies. A feasibility study will also be conducted to determine how to achieve a 30 percent reduction in residential and commercial energy use and show the economic benefits of energy efficiency. This project will assess and determine the technical and economic feasibility of energy efficiency improvements to existing Tribally-owned buildings. The goal is to identify ways to reduce energy use, demonstrate sustainability practices, and illustrate the potential for economic and environmental benefits for the Tribe. This funding will support an energy efficiency feasibility study at Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel (PCCH) in Northern Wisconsin. The planned full-scale energy assessment will identify measures to yield significant reductions in overall energy use, once implemented. This project will identify ways to reduce the energy consumption at Bay Mills Indian Communitys most energy intensive buildings. The study will identify measures to reduce energy consumption by at least 30 percent in each of these buildings. The Tribe plans to conduct energy assessments of 16 Tribally-owned governmental buildings. The energy assessment findings will allow the Tribe to prioritize building upgrades.

This project will enhance the capacity of the Nevada Inter-Tribal Energy Consortium (NITEC) to assist Nevada tribes in technically managing tribal energy resources and implementing tribal energy programs. This project will establish the Scotts Valley Energy Development Office. This office will further support the Tribes goal of providing weatherization services to other Tribes within the surrounding counties, thereby helping to create jobs, increase energy efficiency, enhance occupant comfort, and improve indoor air quality. This project will identify the Tribes clean energy options and develop a strategy for sustaining the Tribe through any energy shortages. This project will establish a Tribal Energy Organization to effectively coordinate, manage and advance energy initiatives developed by the Tribe. This project will build Tribal capacity to carry out renewable energy projects by involving tribal members, leaders and stakeholders in creating a sustainable organizational structure to support the Tribes renewable energy projects. The project will support the development of a strategic energy plan for the potential construction of the Renewable Energy Demonstration Center at the existing Cabazon Resource Recovery Park. The Tribe will conduct a cost benefit analysis to provide Tribal leadership with critical information needed to identify energy options that align with the Tribes longterm strategic plan and energy vision. This project will develop a comprehensive biomass energy strategy and implementation plan that aligns with the Tribes long-term goals.

Project Focus The project will allow the Siletz Tribal Energy Program to hire a data entry coordinator to collect, analyze, and store current energy data, evaluate future needs, and assess the Tribes clean energy options. This project will create an energy action plan to assist the Tribe in creating a blueprint for long-term energy self-sufficiency which addresses both the development of sustainable energy sources, as well as options for reducing energy consumption. This project will establish the Soboba Strategic Tribal Energy Plan - a five year energy plan which will include a minimum 5% benchmark reduction in energy usage for each year, along with an action plan for energy reduction projects and a community outreach campaign. This project will provide training and certification in infrared cameras, blower door analysis, building envelopes, and building systems for a minimum of ten Tribal staff, allowing them to perform future home energy assessments.

This project will prepare a comprehensive strategic energy plan that incorporates energy efficiency technologies, renewable energy sources and other energy management and development options. The project will also build the Tribes capacity to effectively develop and implement its plan. Manistee, MI This project will provide clean energy training and workshops to 30 tribal staff, leaders, and members, and provide energy assessor training and certification for eight tribal members. Installation Projects Belcourt, ND The Tribe will install energy efficiency improvements to their manufacturing facility, the Turtle Mountain Manufacturing Company, in order to significantly reduce energy costs at the facility. This project will improve the overall energy efficiency of the water treatment/distribution and sewer collection systems in the Native Village of Selawik. These upgrades, once implemented, are expected to yield significant reductions in cost and energy use. CCTHITA will install energy efficiency improvements to four tribal buildings (Andrew Hope Building, Training and Resource Center, Edward K. Thomas Building, and Douglass Headstart). These improvements will result in sustained cost and energy savings. This project will replace inefficient heating and hot water systems, install insulated exterior doors, increase lighting efficiency, seal air leaks, and implement other energy efficiency, cost-saving measures.
