3.a) Explain about various virtual channel ID numbers and their circuit
number assignment.
b) Explain what is understood by the following terms used in relation
to packet switched data networks:
i) Datagram
ii) Virtual call (circuit)
iii) Logical channel.

4.a) Explain about “ATM adaptation layer”.

b) Discuss the different methods of error detection in each of the
Application adaptive layer.

5.a) Describe some of the factors that need to be considered in

connecting networks.
b) Explain “cross bar switch”.

6. Explain the use of the “folding algorithm” in rearrangeable

networks. Explain its structure.
