Training Design and Course Content Template 1.

What is your overall goal for the learning experience (learning program, workshop, etc.?) What will people have to know or do differently to have made this experience valuable to the organization? This forms your learning objective or objectives. Consider how this learning should be sequenced to make sense to your audience. 2. For any learning that is beyond just communicating information, you will need to plan an activity that allows learners to do something active: discuss, ask questions, do an exercise, skill practice, role play, etc. Every activity should be linked to a learning objective try to avoid activities if you cannot clearly understand how they help people learn something important. Use the table below to plan and record your design. 3. Test your design with a willing group to see if your learning objectives, sequencing, timing, materials and delivery make sense. Make it possible for people to give you feedback in an open environment. 4. Consider how will you know learning has occurred. Will learners have to demonstrate a skill, or report an attitudinal change? Complete a quiz? Consider your method of evaluation and how detailed or formal it has to be.
