Instructional Procedures
Prior to Instruction
Month One
In this month pupils will be able to identify the characters, setting and plots by completing worksheets
and composing a shaped poem.

Month Two
In this month pupils will be able to know the story throughout and beginning to understand what to do
for their extension project by completing worksheets, listening to the teacher’s explanation and
looking at some samples.

Month Three
In this month pupils are beginning to collect materials for their news report by getting information
from the internet, getting pictures from printed sources and making interviews.

Month Four
In this month pupils will be presenting their news report (front page) to the class and making peers’
review by completing evaluation as well as reflection forms.
