CAMPMEETING 2011 REVIVE US AGAIN

Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. Psalm 80:18

Leaving a Legacy
I am sure that if you searched these grounds you could find many stories of the legacy of the campgrounds and campmeeting. Today I sat down and spoke with one such person who is a part of such a legacy.

SERMON NOTES Tuesday AM: For as high as the heavens are above the earth, (74.4 sextillion miles) so great is His grace, healing, mercy, and love to those who love Him.

When your girls camp at the Indian Lake spirit sourced you wait for God to act and recampgrounds. She had to take the train from spond to Him. Its not about wrong or right, its Durand to Vicksburg to get there. The cost about the source. of attending camp was $8.00 and a bag of sugar. It was during the war and food was Bible study in 10 Words or less rationed. Later Eleanor and Dave attended the very first campmeeting held on these grounds in 1956. They stayed in army tents up on the hill and shared the tent with their 4 kids and 2 teens from their church. There were many memories that Eleanor shared with me about things that happened while at campmeeting, some tragic, and some miracles. (continued on back) We can climb into Gods lap Dave Wermuth

A man dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter meets him at the gate. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item. When you reach 100 points, you get in." "Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart." "That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!" "Three points?" he says. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported its ministry with my tithe and service." "Terrific!" says St. Peter, "that's certainly worth a point." "One point? Golly. How about this: I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for the homeless. "Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says. "TWO POINTS!!" the man cries, "At this rate the only way Ill get into heaven is by the GRACE OF GOD!"

"Come on in!"

attended campmeeting on these grounds, and when asked what one thing she would say about campmeeting if she could Eleanor said. Its a great spiritual tradition and a great place to bring up your kids. I would love nothing better than to one day share with my great grandchildren the legacy of campmeeting. Lets all continue this great legacy with our own families.
