YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AFFAIRS OFFICE y Sangguniang Kabataan Convention - Participated by 437 SK Chairmen held last December 8, 2010 during

the Youth Week Celebration at San Luis Sports Complex, Sta. Cruz, Laguna; Assembly of the newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan Chairmen of Laguna wherein they were given lectures on the youth situation, brief overview of the ISKOLAR BOS by the DILG and the importance of leadership discussed by the National Youth Commission Student Leadership Training Seminar - Participated by the student leaders of the Laguna State Polytechnic University held last January 29-30, 2011 at LSPU Hall; The leadership training was attended by 50 student leaders wherein they were given team building workshops to enhance their camaraderie. The students were able to have a strategic planning for their projects in their term of office. Film Showing and Peer Group Counseling - Participated by 50 in-school and out of school youth and their parents held last February 25, 2011 at Brgy. Tagumpay Elem. School, Bay Laguna; The activity aims to make the youth realize their values in life and the importance of education in achieving their dreams and aspiration of a better life. The training also discussed the importance of youth development in the community. Leader Ka K! Radio Program - aired every Saturday 9-10 am at Radyo DZLB 1116Khz Ang Tinig ng Kaunlaran ; A youth oriented magazine type radio program that that encourages the youth to take action in effecting change and progress in our country. Leadership and Skills Training - To be participated by the Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan ng Laguna to be held on March 19-20, 2011; The training will equip the SK Presidents leadership skills, parliamentary procedures, SK Roles and responsibilities and fiscal administration and operations.

LAGUNA UNIVERSITY y y Celebrated their 5 years of foundation Laguna University offers the lowest tuition fee rate for indigent college students but with high quality of education. The Provincial Government of Laguna thru the instruction of Hon. Jeorge E.R. Ejercito Estregan subsidizes the educational fund that the students needed. At present the university has a total number of 916 students.

LIVELIHOOD PROJECT y Thru its Special Livelihood Office, the Provincial Governor were able to give loans to applicants in the different livelihood programs such as in the Sari-Sari Store , sub-contracting, cut-flower production and vending assistance. Conducted livelihood trainings such as manicure/pedicure, hair trimming, beaded jewelry making. The trainings are accredited by TESDA Conducted 6 Cooperative Pre-membership Education Seminar to newly organized cooperatives and attended by 210 cooperators

ENVIRONMENT y Implementation of DAO 96-40 or Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 7942 otherwise known as the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 - Assess sites regarding requests for donation of quarrying materials of different barangays and municipalities and other government agencies within the province Implementation of RA 8749- Philippine Clean Air Act

Implements the Provincial Ordinance No. 3 S-1997 An Ordinance Prohibiting Drivers and Passengers from smoking Tabacco inside public utility vehicles Validation and inspection regarding complaints on air pollution in the 3 municipalities of Laguna. Implementation of Resolution No. 7670 S-1995 Ordinance No. 3 S-1999 Prohibits the disposal, discharge, dumping of garbage and any waste into the rivers, riverbanks, and tributaries thereto and the lakes within the province Implements the Executive Order No. 5 S-2005 for waste segregation, reduction, re-use, recycling in all offices under the provincial government, national offices and food stalls/chains within the capitol compound, San Luis RECS, PGMNHS and LPH

PEACE AND ORDER Crime Prevention and Special Operations y A total of 4,753 crime incidents were reported in the province. This crime volume is 3.96% lower than of last year. This crime volume registered an average monthly crime rate of 16.03% compared to 39.06% of last year. There is a decrease of murder incidents from 246 to 179, homicide, decrease of 211 from 273 to 62, Physical injury, a decrease of 1,690 from 2,532 to 842, rape, decrease of 48 from 213 to 165, robbery, decrease 591 from 1,149 to 558, theft, decrease of 1,210 from 2041 to 831, carnapping, decrease of 62 from 332 to 270 and cattle rustling, decrease of 13 from 17 to 4. y Campaign against illegal drugs which resulted in the arrest of 983 persons. 486 cases were filed in court. 120s seminars/dialogues were held and participated by LGUs, NGOs, LADAC, , MADACs and BADACs y Campaign against crime groups resulted in the arrest of 9 and death of 21 members of different notorious crime groups y Continous campaign against loose firearms, wanted persons, carnapping, illegal gambling, pedophile and child abuse, prostitution and vagrancy, pornography and illegal sale of video discs and illegal logging

Done in 20 towns in Laguna wherein policemen were given moral and spiritual transformation Done once a week in every offices of the Provincial Government Done in the different national high schools wherein students were informed on the disadvantages of the use of illegal drugs

PUBLIC HEALTH AND NUTRITION y y Reproductive Health and Family Planning Adolescent Health and Youth Development Program - This program helps to safeguard the health and well-being of our youth and to enable them to maximize their potentials. There were 164 seminars conducted and 7,686 youth from all sectors who participated. Pabasa sa Nutrisyon - Pabasa leaders organize and conduct Pabasa sa Nutrisyon to mothers and other caregivers Supplementary Feeding Program for Nutrition Rehabilitation - 22,000 beneficiaries of the program Facilitate the distribution of energy food ration from UNICEF and Corn Soya Blend Supplementary Feeding with 5,097 beneficiaries in 97 barangays, 11 municipalities and 3 cities Medical Missions - 9,449 beneficiaries of free consultation, x-ray, dental services, laboratory services, pap smear and ECG Supplementary Feeding Program for Nutrition Rehabilitation Facilitate the distribution of energy food ration from UNICEF and Corn Soya Blend Supplementary Feeding Medical Missions

TOURISM y Tourism Promotion and Marketing - Released tourism advisory on the celebration of various festivals and tourism related events in different municipalities and cilties of Laguna which creates awareness, appreciation, interest and patronage of Laguna s tourism products and services Participated in various travel and trade expositions Created the Laguna Tourism website and production of promotional materials Accommodated the Living in Asia Channel and CCI Asia Group who conducted photo shoot in Laguna s 7 churches with sidetrips per town. Formulated tour itineraries for Holy Week, summer, Christmas, Valentines and Educational Tours Tri-media hosting Tourism Standards and Services - Proposed the establishment of the Laguna Heritage, Tourism and Trade Center - the center will showcase the best that Laguna could offer. This will be located at the South Hub Caltex Gasoline Station, Mamplasan Binan City. Participated in the national/regional Tourism Industry Congresses/Planning Workshops/Meetings/Seminars

FIELD AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION SERVICES y y y y Distributed a total of 6,805 bag of certified seeds under Rapid Seed Supply Financing Project of the Department of agriculture for dry cropping Season Conducted 3 season long farmers field school on palay check system in the different municipalities of Laguna Established 3 technology demonstrations for the farmers field school Conducted Rice Damage Assessment and Monitoring Workshop in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Bureau of Agriculture Statistics with a total of 100 Agriculture Extension workers in the province Conducted Rice Production Updates in coordination with Agricultural Training Institute - Region IV-A in the municipalities of Mabitac, Pangil and Sta. Cruz with a total of 105 farmerparticipants. Prepared Provincial Rice Self- Sufficiency Program and Rice Roadmap for Regional Input for the National Rice Self Sufficiency Target Conducted a Sweet Corn Derby, a technology demonstration in 19 participating municipalities/cities in order to promote awareness on promising varieties of sweet corn for a sustainable agriculture. Conducted 4 season Long farmers field school on corn production in the cities of Calamba and San Pablo and in the town of Pangil Conducted Season Long FFS on vegetables in 4 municipalities with 150 farmer participants, training on Agri-Pinoy Banner Program for vegetables in 3 municipalities Distributed knapsack sprayer to 19 members of Laguna Vegetable Industry Council Helps NGOs in market sourcing of vegetables Maintaining a vegetable protective cultivation techno-demo Dispersed 5000 pieces of fruit trees seedlings and 500 pieces of lanzones seedlings Distributed 20,000 pieces of Robusta Coffee Seedlings in the municipalities of Sta.
