little enemy air opposition. One unusunl occurrence was tbat of

away. High nose attacks still predominated, but the percentage is

this mission. Pointed and barrago type fire enoountered , with
the highest assessment being moderate and aoourate . NO evasive ao -
tion was taken by our foroos and only one report of phosphorus
"ras made with no obscrved r esults .

PART II - BCNBINQ.
1. The weather front encountere d south of the coast of
Japan r esulted in the complete disruption and scatte r ing of
formations . A few aircraft we r e nble to ass emble at the coast
and p r oceed to the primary targe t . J,. number of a ircraf t also
bombed the primary t arget individually. As a r esult of these
conditions , only 33 aircraft bombed the assigned target. The
remainder of the striking forc e att a.cked last r esort t a r gets using
radar . r eckoni ng and methodS .
2. The I.P .,\,suke, could not be identified althou.gh it
was the best available I.P, in t;',at p,rea. . The ... . P. 's, ho_ever,
were easily distinguishabl&.
3 . In sumrnariting the r e sults of those p,iroraft

4. Of the aircraft bambing the target mOlt of
the errors can be attributed t o personnel. Air disipline con_
tinued to be poor. Premature relenses by and subseq_
