Mission: Our mission is to implement after-school activities so that students have greater
opportunities for successes in developing the attitudes, skills, knowledge, and abilities to live healthy lives, become productive adults, and to thrive in the workplaces and communities of the 21st century.
Purpose:
with quality after school supervision in a safe environment by enriching their lives through structured socialization, exploration and hands-on learning activities while enhancing their quality of life in partnership with their families, school, and community. The intent is to provide a safe, relaxed, and stimulating environment for students who are able to meaningfully participate in a variety of planned activities between the end of school each day up to 6:00 p.m.
Philosophy
Muller Road Middle School after-school program s philosophy contends that activities of students during out-of-school-time can be as important to their growth and development as the time they spend in the classroom. During these non-school hours, students who are able to meaningfully participate have opportunities to choose from a variety of enriching activities, allowing them to explore new fields of interest while engaging in hands-on activities and structured socialization. These activities are designed to support and expand the physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills experienced in school.
Strategic Direction
Provide an after-school program that exceeds SC State s licensing agency. Bridge communications between the Muller Road Middle after-school program, its students and their families, the school system and our community. Develop after-school activities that reflect Richland School District Two s programs and enable students to function successfully. Select/maintain a quality work force. Provide a safe, quality environment. Improve communications and administrative operations using the latest information technology. Obtain necessary funding to provide quality after-school program
ASP hours of operation begin at the end of each full school day until 6:00pm only when school is open. Please check the current Richland School District Two s Calendar for school closing dates.
