Technology Manager GlaxoSmithKline 1997 to 2004 Managed the Manufacturing and QA IT infrastructure for the Opiates division at Port Fairy and Latrobe, the role required the selection and application of IT solutions for the division, which would improve regulatory compliance, quality assurance and reduce cost of goods. Led and managed a small team that was responsible for the development and implementation of a range of production management, process control, reporting, data management, inventory management, enterprise resource planning, quality management, information processing, security and other operational systems. This role spanned two company sites to improve productivity, efficiency, product quality and competitiveness. The direct reports to this position comprised 2 IT Infrastructure Specialists, and 2 Instrument/Electrical Technicians. During this time as Technology Manager the following key projects were deployed under my management: ERP implementation (MFG-Pro and Lot Management System) Responsible for all business mapping, system design, manufacturing and QA configuration, manufacturing and QA documentation and data migration testing. A number of interfaces were included within the scope of this project incorporating the following systems: MFGPro (ERP), Laboratory Information Management System, Distributed Control System, and the weighscales. Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) - Managed the implementation of a LIMS system for the company s QA Laboratory, with responsibility for modelling the data life cycle from sample receipt to product release, writing the business and user requirement specifications, selecting and recommending the system and managing all facets of the project to completion. WiFi, Barcoding and Labelling Project -Proposed and championed the concept of direct data capture and product labelling for the company s Chemicals Division. Designed the WiFi infrastructure for the company s two sites, sourced and installed the portable data terminals and interfaced weighscales to MFG-Pro Distributed Control System (DCS) - Assisted the implementation a new Yokogawa Distributed Control System, a fully Ethernet networked process control and data acquisition platform utilising a digital bus for data acquisition from field mounted measurement devices Process Information Management Systems (PIMS) - Much of the data acquired by the DCS and PLC systems was generally lost within a matter of days. I ran a project to evaluate a number of systems to determine the feasibility of implementing a PIMS and interfacing to the ERP system. Yokogawa Exaquantum, Matricon PlantNet/Aspentech IP21 Manufacturing and QA Lead for BPCS implementation -Chemicals Division implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning system. GSK globally had chosen BPCS as their ERP solution. Responsible for the implementation for the Chemicals Division
