THE BIRTH OF JESUS NARRATOR 1: long, long time ago, far across the sea, lived a beautiful lady

named Mary. One day an angel came to Mary. ANGEL 1: Mary, God loves you. You are going to have a little baby boy and you should call him Jesus. NARRATOR 1: Then the angel went away. NARRATOR1: Mary thought and thought about what the angel had said. MARY: Joseph! guess what! Im pregnant! JOSEPH: What! Youre supposed to be pure and virgin! Thats why we are going to get married! (Mary went away crying) NARRATOR:. Then the angel came to Joseph and said: ANGEL l: Joseph, son of David, dont be afraid to take Mary as your wife because the baby she is having is from the Holy Spirit, you will give him the name of Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. NARRATOR: Time past and they had to go to Bethlehem to pay their taxes. (Marry gets a pregnant belly. Joseph and Marry hold hands and walk slowly around the stage as narrator says:) NARRATOR: They traveled a long way and when they got to Bethlehem it was dark and late and they were very tired, so they went to an inn. (Joseph knocked a door, 1st innkeeper opens) JOSEPH: Please, sir do you have room for us to stay the night at your inn? 1st INNKEEPER: No, all of our rooms are full. You will have to go to another place. (Mary and Joseph walk to next inn Joseph knocks the door, 2nd innkeeper opens) JOSEPH: Please, sir, do you have a room that we could use for the night at your inn? 2nd INNKEEPER: No, we have no more room here.

(They walked to another inn; Joseph knocks, 3rd innkeeper opens ) JOSEPH: Sir, do you have room for us at your inn? 3rd INNKEEPER: No, nothing at all. Every room is filled. JOSEPH: Please, sir, we have come a long way, and my wife Mary is very tired. Maybe you have some place where she can rest. 3rd INNKEEPER: Well, there is an unused stable out back; if you want you can use it. JOSEPH: Thank you for your kindness but my wife needs a comfortable room to rest in. MARY: Joseph, lets take this stable because I cant go farther. JOSEPH: Thank you, Sir, the Lord will pay you this. (Joseph and Mary get into the stable where there is a manger and a chair. Mary sits on the chair and Joseph stands behind the manger.) NARRATOR: That Night the little baby, Jesus was born. Mary wrapped him in warm clothes and laid him in a manger. NARRATOR: Far away in the fields the shepherds were tending their sheep. They saw a bright new star in the sky. SHEPHERD: (Facing the others) Hey look that shiny and bright star! Have you ever seen it before? SHEPHERD: No, I sure havent. How about you? (Looking to the third shepherd) SHEPHERD: No I have never seen it before in my life. NARRATOR: They were very frightened, but an angel came to the shepherds. ANGEL: Dont be afraid. Tonight the baby Jesus, the son of God was born in Bethlehem. If you follow the star, you will find him lying in a manger. (The angel goes away) SHEPHERD: Lets go to Bethlehem and see the little baby that the angel has told us about. (They start walking toward the stable) NARRATOR: And they came and found Mary and Joseph and the Baby lying in the manger. And they knelt down and venerate him. (Shepherds turn and kneel at left of Mary and Joseph)

NARRATOR: Far away in the East the wise men saw the star also. (Wise men point to the star) BALTAZAR: Hey look at that star! It means that the baby Jesus has been born. MELCHOR: Yes we should follow it, because it will lead us to the baby Jesus. GASPAR: So, lets go and take him the gifts we have brought for him. (They walk to the stable) NARRATOR: The wise men knelt and offered Gold, Myrrh and Frankincense to the baby Jesus) (They all stand up and start singing)
