What Every Parent Needs to Know...

The 2005 Wyoming State legislature passed a graduated licensing law [W.S. 31-7-110(gm)] which requires that minors under 17 years of age be issued an Intermediate Permit prior to receiving full driving privileges. Nationally, motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for young people between the ages of 15-20, causing 1/3 of all fatalities. Teens are involved in three times as many fatal crashes as are all other licensed drivers. Graduated driver licensing is designed to allow young drivers time to develop their driving skills and to demonstrate responsible driving behaviors.
