Rotarian Dave Miller presented the story his personal dog rescue of his Rhodesian Ridgeback. Ridgeback breed have a long history of hunting dog experiences. He discovered how the Dog Rescue system worked with the application and the potential pet owner questions. He and his wife were very interested in this acquiring the dog. After completing and sending in the questionnaire they became a successful applicant. It was a testament to our current communication system and how one can acquire a pet with the Rescue process. In addition to volunteers willing to drive the dog and the Pilots and Paws program made arraignments to fly the dog free. Then the story of how the dog would arrive began. With all the paperwork completed the dogs travel began with lots of hoops and changes. Beginning on a Wednesday from the kennel in Carlsbad the dog was delivered by car to VanNuys, plans of flying to Paso Robles were changed as pilot cannot fly due to weather. Then they proposed to meet on I-5 at Harris Ranch. Finally home on Sunday after many helpful volunteers. Dave shared letters and communication from rescue volunteers of the positive experience and how so many lives were enriched by the process.
