Staff includes MLB umpiring greats, current MLB Supervisors, as well as, NCAA officials. MCCS OFFERS CPR CERTFICATION September 7 CPR 0900-1300 (few spots left) These classes have just been scheduled and are open to the first 15 people to sign up: October 26 CPR + First Aid 0900-1530 November 30 CPR + First Aid 0900-1530 December 14 CPR + First Aid 0900-1530 All classes are $6.00 each. Certification is good for 2 years through the American Heart Association. Childcare is provided at the Youth & Teen Center for non-school aged children. To sign up email Stacy Brooks at stacy.brooks@usmc.mil or call 858-577-6195. 2ND ANNUAL "INDIVIDUAL AUGMENTEE (IA) BEACH BASH" 2nd Annual "Individual Augmentee (IA) Beach Bash" at Breakers Beach, Naval Base Coronado (Naval Air Station North Island). It will be from 10:00am2:00pm on Saturday, 27 August 2011. All service members who have been on an Individual Augmentee (IA) tour, their families and friends, families of currently deployed IA, and those with IA orders are invited. This annual reunion recognizes on a large scale, and shows appreciation at a fun-filled day at the beach for those who have served, continue to serve, and will soon serve on these long non-traditional deployments. Food, drink, and refreshments will be provided. Surfing lessons, beach football and volleyball, rock climbing, childrens crafts, fun and games, and music will be part of this resort style free event for IAs and IA Families. LEADERSHIP EDUCATION SEMINAR FOR SPOUSES It is time for the Fall 2011 Leadership Education Seminar. This Spring's seminar will be held 25-27 October at Blinder Memorial Chapel Social Hall, Building 202863, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Ca from 0800-1500 daily. The intention at LES, is to provide an opportunity to Marine Corps and Navy spouses to gain skills to better support your unit and the Marine Corps community. The Leadership Education Seminar (LES) is a three-day seminar that teaches Communication, Values, Group Dynamics, Conflict Management, Etiquette, Protocol, Crisis and Trauma, Handling the Media, Volunteer Retention, and Transition and Turnover for spouses that are active in unit and base activities. The Commanding Officer has the opportunity to nominate two spouses that would benefit from this seminar. The nominee would have to attend all three days (all day) and would need to have childcare in place if necessary. MCAS MIRAMAR FAMILY TENNIS DAY MCCS Semper Fit & The San Diego District Tennis Association Present: MCAS Miramar Family Tennis Day. Come and join the excitement at our free Family Tennis Day at the Officers' Club tennis courts. It's designed for the whole family to a have a good time while learning the game of tennis. Teaching pros will be on hand to guide players from the beginning level to the advanced. They'll offer instruction, stroke development and fun filled drills. The celebration includes on-court clinics for kids and adults, a "hit for prizes" contest, snacks and more. All authorized patrons with valid ID Cards are welcome; just show up with your racquet ready to learn. If you don't have a racquet, we'll loan you one. MOVIE FESTIVAL SPECIAL SCREENING The organizers of the West Coast Film Festival http://westcoastfilmfest.com/ would like to offer a special invitation to active-duty Marines to attend a special screening of the movie "Warrior" on Thursday, 25 August. The event is being held at the Regency Theatre complex is San Juan Capistrano. The price for military members is $15, normal admission to the festival is $25. This clinic is for active duty (all branches), retirees and reservist to assist those in need that are having difficulties with foreclosure prevention, distressed homeowner education and assistance, first time home buyer info, short sales assistance, etc. There will be an anticipated 40 professionals there representing the following: (Wells Fargo, Bank of America, US Banks, etc), lawyers, tax consultants, short sale consultants, bankruptcy specialist and a variety of other financially specific topics regarding home ownership. CHARGERS APPRECIATION DAY EVENT MCCS will be hosting the 5th annual San Diego Chargers Military Appreciation Day event on Wednesday, 31 August from 0945 - 1200 at the Youth Sports Complex. Tentative Timeline: 0945 Interactive Games sponsored by Bud Lite, 1045 Chargers Cheerleaders Performance, 1100 Chargers Walk Through Practice, 1140 Autograph Signing, 1200 Event concludes. Event is open to all eligible patrons - advertising and promotions will begin about 12 August. POWER OF PLAY Take advantage of this opportunity to schedule yourself for some play time.
