STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Technology have grown multiple folds over the period of time .Today the field of computers is advancing at an incredible pace as organizations world wide are trying to embrace it with open arms. This is because of increasing levels of automation cutting across the industry barriers to effectively manage the change in todays fierce competitive environment. It is obvious, that if the companies not adopt this technology there is a chance that they would become extinct in not time. Computer, the invention of the century, is changing the way we think, work and live. It is surprising to see how this man made object has the power to outwit man himself. The ease with which a computer performs complex tasks which otherwise would take a lot of manpower is fascinating. This is going to become the most influential tool of this and the forthcoming centuries. I regard myself fortunate to have the opportunity for advanced studies in this field of Computer Science. I see the whole field more and more poised to take off. It was this particular fact that motivated me to take up Computer Science as my career. A natural aptitude for mathematics, a sense of logic, analytical ability, capacity for diligent work and high academic credentials secured me a place in Guru Nanak Engineering College in Information Technology. The four years curriculum exposed me to the entire gamut of computer courses thus laying a good foundation for both my Hardware and Software fundamentals. My main areas of interest were Java Programming and Multimedia.

I had taken up courses on Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Data Structures, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Computer Graphics, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Language Processors, Microprocessors, Software Testing Methodologies, Decision Support Systems... etc. This program has converted my initial zeal into deep fascination for the subject and motivated me to pursue graduate study. I am proficient in languages such as JAVA, C, HTML, and packages like MS Office, databases like ORACLE, and operating systems like MS-DOS, UNIX, Linux, Windows and designing languages like UML. During my under-graduation I was involved in various other activities ranging from presentation of technical papers to participate in Techno Events. I presented papers like Sales Order Processing at Guru Nanak Engineering College, Hyderabad and Design and Implementation of IRC Client at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. While the undergraduate courses enabled me to grasp the fundamentals related to Computer Science Engineering, they do not present an opportunity to thoroughly understand the technologies that are current within the industry. Therefore, while a Bachelors degree provides a sound alternative to taking a direct leap from schooling fundamentals to industry standards, it is still insufficient for an engineer to analyze the professional world. I feel the need to take up graduate study, as it would bring me closer to the kind of technical expertise I require to fulfill my professional desires. The distinguished faculty and excellent facilities at your university make the graduation program ideally suited to my professional goals. Your University provides me a dynamic atmosphere, which will shape me to be a thinker and a learner. The flexibility of the curriculum will give me the broad-based education I need to widen the scope of my knowledge and skills. The diversity of the students body will open my mind to new influences, new ideas and new ways of doing things. The world is literally becoming a global village where opportunities for work are transcending physical space. With the Cyberspace connections, Indian knowledge workers are increasingly contributing to the

global work force. The international education will give me the training and the caliber to meet the global clients. I look forward to being an active contributing member of the student community at your University. In conclusion, I would like to say that if granted admission into your university I would perform to the best of my abilities and hope to acquire skills that will help me realize my dreams.
