Prof. Dr. Kwang Bum Park, DDS, MS, PhD

Prof. Dr. Kwang Bum Park began his career in 1991 at the dental school of Kyung Pook National University as an assistant lecturer at the department of periodontics where he was awarded a PhD in 1995 with the thesis named The Periodontal Regeneration. In 1993, he opened his private practice in Daegu. At the same time he started seminars for private dentists to teach clinical periodontics and implant dentistry. To date, more than 1500 dentists have completed this course in Korea. From 2000 to 2001, he attended the Department of Periodontics, School of Dentistry, UCLA as a visiting professor. After returning from the UCLA, he gathered a group of dentists with specialist backgrounds to create a dental hospital. In 2002, Dr Park opened the largest dental hospital in Korea called MIR Dental Hospital hosting 70 surgeries, with more than 20 dentists and 120 employees operating at Daegu, Korea. The project was a huge success and so he developed a dental hospital network known as the MIR Network. As of 2009, the network has 22 branches with more than 1000 employees and doctors in South Korea. He is an active member of Academy of Osseointegration (AO) and also an international member of American Academy of Periodontology (AAP).

Prof. Dr. Marco Esposito, DDS, PhD

Editor of the Cochrane Oral Health Group Associate Professor in Biomaterials with the Sahlgrenska Academy at Gteborg University, Sweden Editor in Chief of the European Journal of Oral Implantology. Dr. Esposito graduated with honors in dentistry at the University of Pavia, Italy, in 1990 and was awarded a PhD in Biomaterials from the Gteborg University in 1999. He worked as Guest Researcher at NIOM (Scandinavian Institute of Dental Materials), Haslum, Norway and is a specialist in Periodontics (UK). He also acted as the Director of the Postgraduate Dental Specialties courses in Dental Implantology (Certificate, Diploma and Master), School of Dentistry, University of Manchester, UK between 2007 and 2011, but now he has decided to be a freelance researcher and devote his time entirely to evidence based research in dental implanto-logy. He authored more than 80 scientific publications in international peerreviewed journals. His main research interests are the assessment of the effectiveness of various therapeutic interventions with particular emphasis on dental implants.

Dr Mark Hamburger B.D.S. B.Ch.D (Hons)

Dr Mark Hamburger qualified B.D.S (University of Witwatersrand 1984) where he was awarded the prestigious B.Ch.D. (Hons) University of Pretoria 1985. He has since built up an enormous experience as a clinician, as a lecturer and as a published author. Regarded as a leader in the field of prosthodontics he has been instrumental in the design and production of computer guided implantology. Following his position as Senior Lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, Department of Prosthodontics. Mark was invited to be the Head of implantology at the dental division of Boots the chemist. Mark is currently the clinical director of Portman Healthcare and senior lecturer at the Portman Academy. Dr Hamburger has previously lectured at the following institutions: New York University, Post Graduate Implantology Program; University of Ann Arbor, Michigan post graduate periodontics program; University of Loiusianna, New Orleans; Bethesda Naval Post Graduate Dentistry Program; Bethesda Hospital, Washington D.C.
