Learnings, questions, comments, connections to TOK? Developing an evaluativist way of viewing things shows how someone questions the knowledge presented to him. An evaluativist thinker does not readily accepts a claim, he inputs his own understanding on that area and demands for proofs to validate that claim presented. Disagreeing or agreeing with a claim enables a person to be able to improve a claim by presenting his own side. We are encouraged to have this way of thinking so that we will be able to improve on each others ideas. I can relate this to my TOK lessons because in TOK, we are also required to take a stand in the different knowledge issues. In taking a stand, we question the other side and this way, present our own insights. This is similar to how an evaluativist thinks. Also, a relativist and an absolutist are similar to each other and anything presented to them can be true. They just accept. We have to veer away from these kinds of insights to be able to be more have a say in the knowledge we gain.
