August 18 - Find Your Way Greater Twin Cities United Way has set up a unique volunteer event on August 18th that is perfect for groups, businesses and individuals and it requires as little as 15 minutes of time during the lunch hour! We are working to demonstrate the power of one volunteer and what one person can do to positively affect the community. Leading PR firm seeks a non-profit pro bono client To help meet the needs of Minnesota nonprofits, Bloomington-based Weber Shandwick is seeking applications for its 2012 pro-bono client. Eligible nonprofits must be based in Minnesota and provide services that improve the lives of Minnesota families and/or children. They are also encouraged to have a specific or timely reason to tell their story a major milestone, a trend that has an impact on the organization, or a significant change in the way they are structured. Applications are due September 1. The selected pro-bono client will receive a specific set of communications services, depending on the organizations needs. The primary goal is to direct the organization on a path to an effective communications program through consulting and training. Weber Shandwick has been serving Minnesota communities for more than 25 years. The firms current pro bono client is Admission Possible, which helps make college admission possible for low-income students through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support.
