3 Introduction
This document is a short guide of the install package of the Samsung DevPack i8910 HD for S60 5th Edition.

4 System requirements
The system requirements are the same as the S60_5th SDKs, and since this SDK installation is prerequisite for the Samsung DevPack i8910 HD, no further system requirements are needed.

5 Installation process
The installation package is configured to enable only one instance of the Samsung DevPack i8910 HD installed on a system. If an earlier version of Samsung DevPack i8910 HD is already installed on the target system launching the setup.exe either starts the removal process of the earlier version or shows an error note to the user - depending on the version of the Windows Installer.

5.1 Prerequisites
S60_5th SDK is installed to the destination computer. All installations must be performed using an administrator account. Otherwise, some environment variables may not be set correctly.

5.2 Launching the Samsung DevPack i8910 HD

1. Start the Samsung DevPack i8910 HD installation by running the Setup.exe installation file. The InstallShield Wizard Welcome dialog appears:

2. Click the next button to continue: a. In case the S60_5th is not installed, an error note is shown and the Installation quits.

b. If the EPOCROOT variable is not set to /epoc32 path, error note is shown:

c. If the installation process started under a restricted account (not as an administrator) an error note is shown, and the installation quits. (On Windows Vista the User Account Control asks for an administrator password.)

If the S60_5th is installed and the installation started under an administrator account, the setup continues with the License agreement dialog:

After accepting the License Agreement the installation progress dialog is shown

Installation will take some minutes since the Extension is installed on top of a newly created copy of the SDK_5th_SDK.

3. After the Setup has finished copying the new files the SDKSwitcher application is displayed to select the default SDK:

Select the preferred environment and press the OK button. 4. Installation Completed dialog appears

Now the installation is complete!

Check the shortcuts in the Start menu:

6 Removing the Samsung DevPack i8910 HD

Use the Start menu Uninstall Samsung DevPack i8910 HD shortcut or the Add or Remove program to uninstall the SDK extension from the computer. 1. Open the Add or Remove Program from Control Panel and select the Samsung SDK.

2. Press the Remove button. Confirmation query is displayed.

3. Select Yes. Setup collects necessary information and the SDKSwitcher application opens listing the SDKs remained on the computer.

4. After selecting a default SDK the setup will complete the uninstallation process.
