Delivery standard varies with Speedpost service and

destination country/territory. Please check the delivery
standard of the selected service to ensure delivery within the
expected timeframe.

Please make sure that the item to be posted does not exceed
the weight and size limits stipulated by the destination country
/ territory and does not contain prohibited and restricted items.
Otherwise, the item may not be successfully delivered.
Service rate charged is based on the actual weight of an item.

Please first calculate the required postage for budgetary
purpose.

smooth delivery.
To enable customs in the destination country/territory to

determine the content of an item, it is crucial to complete all
Customs Declaration(s) and provide the documentation as
required. Otherwise, the item may be delayed in delivery or
seized by customs.
Post your item at Speedpost counter in post offices before

the latest time of posting to ensure delivery within the shortest
timeframe. Alternatively, use our pick-up service for posting.

Service Terms and Conditions

If you post two or more items to the same addressee in

the same location with minimum weight per item of
5kg and 50kg per consignment, you can use our
SpeedpostFreight service to enjoy preferential postage
rate. All packages should conform to the limitation as
specified in Speedpost Posting Guide Section 4.
All packages in each consignment need to be of the

same type and are sent at the same time to the same
addressee.
Each part kilo will be rounded up to the next whole

kilo.
Stamps and franking machines are not acceptable

methods of payment for SpeedpostFreight.
Compensation for loss of, damage to or any delay to

items in delivery (except those items held by Customs
for clearance), will be calculated on a pro-rata basis
according to the gross weight of the consignment.
Compensation or postage refund is based on that in
section 5.
Pick-up service for SpeedpostFreight is available to

account customers only. There is an extra service fee
of HK$50 for each pick-up with a maximum of HK$200
per month. Counter acceptance is available at all post
offices (excluding mobile post offices and mailrooms)
to all customers.
Speedpost reserves the right to alter the terms and

conditions of SpeedpostFreight service without prior
notice.

FreightPLUS Service
A simple and economical way to send multiple

pieces in one consignment
To meet customers demand for quality freight option,

the new Speedpost FreightPLUS service is introduced to
all Speedpost account customer s. It is simple and
economical to send multiple pieces in one consignment,
with only one set of consignment notes required.
1.
Service Features
1. This service is exclusive to Speedpost account
customers and only accepts postings via pick-up.

2. No maximum total weight limit per consignment
subject to a minimum of 2 items per consignment and
an overall minimum chargeable weight of 20 kg.
The minimum weight of each item is 1 kg and the
maximum weight 40 kg. If the items are carried by
pallets / boxes, the maximum weight of each pallet /
box is 500 kg.
Each consignment is charged on per kilo basis. Any
fraction of a kilo will be rounded up to the next whole
kilo.
Items will be charged on its dead weight or volumetric
weight, whichever is higher.
3. Only one set of consignment notes is required for
multiple pieces sending to the same recipient and
address in single consignment.
4. Customers can log on to the Speedpost Online
Account Zone (SOAZ) in Speedpost website for
filling in and printing posting forms at any time.
5. Items shipped will be processed through commercial
clearance.

on the total chargeable weight (each consignment is
charged on a per kilo basis, any fraction of a kilo will be

Other Terms and Conditions of Service, Compensation
Packing of Items:
All items should be adequately packed and the barcodes on the items must not be covered.
Prohibited and Restricted Items:
Please refer to the remarks in Speedpost Posting Guide

and Post Office Guide for commodities which are either
not accepted, or only accepted under certain condition
for posting to individual country or destination.
Billing Arrangements:

- Invoices will be sent to account customers at the end of

each month.
- Cheques should be sent to the address below:

- Payment can also be made at any post office in cash
or cheque.
- The cheque should be crossed and made payable to
Postmaster General with the Speedpost account
number written at the back of the cheque.
- Each Speedpost account is assigned a credit limit,
which allows the account customer to pay for the
posting of Speedpost items via pick-up service or at
any acceptance office. For licensed franking machine
users, no deposit is required and the postage will
be paid by your franker labels. Besides, there is no
need to fill in any application form. Just call 2921
2277 and let us know your postage franking machine
licence number and we shall do the rest.

Liability for Loss, Damage or Delay:

- Every packet shall be accepted for transmission by
Speedpost under, and subject to, the provisions of the
Post Office Ordinance, and the Regulations and Rules
made thereunder.
- Compensation on an ex-gratia basis may be payable in
respect of loss of, damage to or delay in the delivery of
Speedpost items in the following manner:
(i) Full refund of postage paid may be made in case of
total loss, total damage or delay* in delivery of one
day or more with reference to the delivery standard
for a particular destination or area published in
Speedpost website (www.hongkongpost.com/
speedpost) on the day the item is posted.

(ii) Compensation for direct loss, up to a maximum of

$1,500 may be payable if it is proved to the satisfaction
of the Postmaster General that direct loss has been
sustained by the claimant as a result of loss or damage
of the Speedpost item or delay* in delivery for not
less than 7 working days (on the basis of the working
days of destinations). Compensation amount is
according to the declared value on the Certificate of
Posting or maximum HK$1,500 (whichever is the
lowest). The claimant must provide relevant invoice
to substantiate the value of content. If no currency is
specified on the Certificate of Posting, the declared
value will be denominated in Hong Kong dollars.
* However, no compensation or postage refund is payable to Sender
in case of:
(1) Delay or confiscation resulted from customs clearance (Customs
clearance will be counted as full day). The Customs will only
inform the addressee about the progress of customs clearance
(2) Delay or damage resulted from insufficient packing
(3) Sending items destined to the following destinations:
Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova (Republic of),
Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan (Republic of)
(4) Delay in or failure of delivery due to incorrect or incomplete
address
(5) Unclear description (e.g. sample, merchandise without detailed
description of items), false, misleading or incomplete
declaration that leads to failure of clearing item from customs
by delivery agent, seizure or detention of the package by
customs.
(6) Senders failure to provide required documents needed by
import and export regulation of the destination prior to posting
that leads to confiscation or return of item
(7) Delay, loss or damage caused by disaster, political risk, strike,
nuclear explosion or war
(8) Content includes any of the prohibited items listed in Speedpost
Posting Guide Section 2 and Section4
(9) Delay or/and failure of special services, such as request made
after posting to change the name or address of addressee after
posting, or to retrieve item for return to origin
Others:
- Enquiries shall only be accepted within three months from the Day
of Posting. Availability of the required information and lead time
required will depend on the response from the destination Post.
- The Post Office Guide is avaliable at Hongkong Post
webpage (www.hongkongpost.com) or all post office.
- Proof of Delivery may be availiable under special circumstances,
for example, in the case that addressee provides non-receipt
declaration of the Speedpost item.
