Theme: Building Sustainable Indian Multinationals: Agenda for Action
The newly emerging economic order brings new opportunities and challenges for businesses across the world. Many Indian organizations today are experiencing the push to explore markets outside India. There are enough examples of companies building strong domestic operations through constant innovation and building on their core competencies. Can such organizations leverage these strengths and capabilities to achieve competitive global operations? Business beyond borders involves more than just setting up operations outside or acquiring foreign companies or getting access to international capital markets. The National Competition for Management Students (NCMS) this year explores how Indian organizations effectively manage and integrate global operations. There are various dimensions of taking Indian organizations global such as managing a global workforce, leveraging global supply chains, targeting a wider range of customers across the globe, effectively deploying technologies and processes, among others. As drawing up a strategy for managing organizations of tomorrow and effectively looking beyond India is becoming an absolute must, the management students this year deliberate on: What is the change that organizations of today must bring to succeed in this globalized world. Change in terms of workforce, processes, technology, operations, leadership How to manage change effectively to succeed in the competitive environment? What are some good practices that Indian organizations can adapt from successful multi-nationals with vast global presence? Is there a framework that organizations of today create and adhere to, in order to manage diversity while expanding their global footprints? Diversity across various dimensions people, processes, practices What are some key strategies organizations could adopt while going beyond borders? Lets attempt to look at how to develop capabilities required for effectively integrating and managing global operations.

Eligibility Criteria
A team of 2 students in any discipline are eligible to participate. Final year appearing graduate students can also apply. The team members should be from the same Institute/ B-School/ College. The institutes are free to nominate as many teams as they wish.

Format
The teams are required to first submit a written report of 1500-2000 words to AIMA Office (at the address mentioned below) for all Regions viz, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai & New Delhi. Teams will then make an oral presentation before the panel of judges in the respective Regional Centres. Thereafter, Two Best Teams from each Region will be selected to make final presentation at the Grand Finale to be held at New Delhi .*
* (AIMA will select best teams from each region. However, regional selection is subject to proportion according to actual participation of teams in each region.)

An early bird discount of ` 500 per team if registered alongwith participation fee by 15 July, 2011. Participation Fee through Demand Draft should be sent in favour of "All India Management Association", payable at New Delhi. The fee paid is non - refundable / non adjustable though participation by a subtitute team is allowed till the written report is submitted .

Recognitions & Awards


The Champion team, Runners - up I & II and Best Budding Manager of this competition will receive the trophies at AIMA's flagship event 8th National Management Convention (NMC) to be held on 28-29 September, 2011 at New Delhi this year. Invitation to attend this mega flagship event as a complimentary delegate Cash prizes and trophies for the Regional winners IILM will select the best presentation from the top 3 National Winning teams and the solutions presented will be implemented in a company of repute. The Best Budding Manager will also get an opportunity of a unique exposure through industrial visit to Macau & Pearl River Delta (South China) subject to the institution's support towards international travel.
