SVEC Profile: The College was established in the year 1996 by Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust under the

aegis of Padma Sri Dr M. Mohan Babu, a renowned movie artiste and former Member of Parliament with the noble objective of promoting quality technical education. The college is located in scenic environment about 15 km away from the holy city of Tirupati on Tirupati Madanapalli highway. The college is equipped with excellent infrastructure and is accredited by NBA. Our students secured nine coveted JNTU gold medals so far. Courses offered: SVEC offers B. Tech. in ECE (120), EEE (120), EIE (60), EConE (60), CSE (120), IT (120), CSSE (60), Biotechnology (30), CE (120) & ME (60). The college also offers MCA (120) and M. Tech in BT, EPS, CS, DECS, Comm. Sys., CN & IS, VLSI and SE with an intake of 18 each. About the Department: The Dept. of Biotechnology was established in the year 2002, with an intake of 30 students and started M.Tech Programme in the year 2010. The dept.posseses sophisticated well equipped laboratory for inculcation of research orientation in the growing minds. Well established library including digital library facilities made available to the students. The dept. is guided by specialized senior faculty members.

About the Seminar Objective: Nanobiotechnology is a newly emerging field in which novel nanomaterials are developed from biological building blocks. Primary building materials, DNA and peptides have been extensively studied as starting materials for nanomaterial synthesis. Another basic element derived from Natures own designs, includes the virus and virus like particles, ferritins, and other self assembled protein cages such as heat shock protein cages and some enzyme complexes. These qualities are exploited to tailor the BNPs at the atomic and molecu lar scales with specific functionalities. Aim :
