WHAT BRAND OF BUBBLE GUM IS CAPABLE OF BLOWING THE LARGEST BUBBLE? BY:SE YUN
My hypothesis was that Hubba Bubba is capable of blowing the largest bubble. My procedure was to about 10 different types of bubble/ chewing gum and try to blow the bubble with every one of them. My variables are the country that the gum is manufactured in because I think that rich countries will produce better gum. Also, whether the gum is bubble gum or not because I want to see if it matters or not. Last but not least, the quality of the gum because I want to see what makes the quality of the gum good or bad. My sample size is 10 different types of bubble/chewing gum and one person (me) trying to blow them. The reason I chose 10 different types of bubble gums was because I wanted to experiment gums that we could see in our daily life thus types of gums that are popular among people. The reason that I chose to only let one person (me) to blow the bubble was because I had to keep track of air and amount of minute that I chewed. If other people blew the gum, I cant measure the amount of air that they are blowing the bubble with thus I also cant keep track of how good or bad a person is in blowing bubble gums. My hypothesis was supported by my data because Hubba Bubba is capable of blowing the largest bubble. Three things that I did to keep my experiment fair was to chew the gum for a minute before blowing the bubble, using the gum with same sizes, and blowing the gums all on the same day. These procedures all helped me really much to make a fair experiment and also to keep track of the bubble gums. I think that the feedback that Hayen Kim gave to me helped my experiment a bit because she gave me an idea of lung capacity and also how can I measure the amount of air that people are blowing in. These problems were im-

size to only one person doing the whole experiment. In my opinion, I think that giving feedbacks to each other is such an awesome idea because you can share your ideas around the world. Follow Up Questions: 1. Will the conclusion change if I used more varieties of people for my experiment? 2. Does blowing a larger gum than others mean that you have larger lung capacity than others?

3. What are some main differences between the chewing gum and the bubble gum?

WHICH DIAPER HOLDS THE MOST WATER? BY: HYE RIN

Hypothesis: I think GOO.N will hold the most water. Sample Size: 4 brands of diaper. Same amount of water for each diaper. Sources of Error: I tried three ways to make this a fair experiment. I accomplished the experiment in the same environment. I used equal amount of water to pour in each diaper. I used the same size of diaper: L. Use of Feedback: The person who gave me feedback was Tanya. She just said that I should just have to pour in the water slowly. If I put all the water in the same time, the diaper might not take all the water easily and burst. I just took that advice and used that way. It helped a little. Follow up Questions: 1. Would the results change if I proceeded my experiment somewhere cold? 2. If the diapers were all different sizes (theyre sizes like XL, L, etc. in diapers too) would the amount of water they could hold change? 3. If it was already a worn diaper but not wet, would the results change?

Question: Will ice cube melt faster with air or water? By: Amira
Hypothesis: I think the ice will melt in water faster. Because water can absorbed ice faster while air can absorbed ice but it takes time for it to melt. Sample Size: I used 2 ice cubes. Because one is to put in the water and one is to put it on the table. I used 2 because I thought it will be a lot easier than getting 6 ice cubes and experimenting them. Because then I will be confused, and Ill have to do the experiment again. Variables: I used 2 ice cubes and put one of them in the water and one of them on the table. Because then it will be a lot easier to see both of them and timing it. Procedure: I will use 2 ice cubes and put one on the table and one in the water. I will put 2 of them besides each other so it will be easier to time both of them and it will not be confusing because, if I experiment 6 ice cubes, it will take time and Source of Error: I think I should use the same sized ice cube. Because the one that is on the table seems a little bigger than the one in the water. And I think I should use a transparent glass so I could see the melting ice better and timed it better. Use Of Feedback: The feedback, from Wendy Byeon, helped me because I really need more specific information in my hypothesis for example, I think the ice in the water will melt faster is not specific, I think the ice Conclusions: My Hypothesis was supported by the data. I thought that the ice cube will melt faster in the water than the air. Then after experimenting it, it was the ice in the water that melts faster.
1. If I put the ice in cold water, will the ice melt slower than the one that is on the table? 2. if I put a bigger ice in the water and a smaller ice on the table, will the ice in the water still be faster?

hard for me to check if the ice cubes are melting or not, and the timing will be wrong.

in the water will melt faster because water can absorb ice quickly, while air can absorbed ice but it takes time to melt it faster that is a specific hypothesis because I explain why I think this is faster and this is not.

HOW MUCH EGG?

FLOAT

Hypothesis: I think the egg will float when I put 9 spoons of salt. Procedure: First of all, I will prepare one cup with normal water. Next, I will put small amount of salt in the cup and check if the egg floated or not. If not, I'll put a little more, and more until the egg floats (When I'm putting the salt in, I will measure by teaspoons) . Variables: 3 cups of salt ( I think that's enough). Normal tab water. Sample Size: Twice each time (I put the salt in) Question: How much salt does it take to float an egg? Hypothesis: two table spoons. Procedure: First of all, I will prepare one cup with normal tab water. Next, I'll start with 6 table spoon. Then I'll check if the egg floated or not. After that, I'll put 8 table spoon, then add 2 more table spoon (on and on until the egg floats). Variables: 1 1/2 cup of normal tap water. One egg (not boiled) [I put this amount of water, because I thought it was just enough for this experiment I thought too much water would take a large amount of salt]. Sample Size: 2 table spoons of salt every time I put it [I thought putting one table spoon wouldnt really make the egg float, so I decided to put 2 table spoons every time I put them]. Conclusion: My hypothesis was not supported by my data, I thought it would be enough to float an egg by putting 9 spoons of salt in table spoon, but I was wrong. I needed 13 table

spoons of salt to float an egg. Source of error: First of all, I started with the same amount, and same temperature of the water. Secondly, I measured the amount of salt perfectly. Lastly, I used the same type of salt (I used a salt thats really salty, because I thought the weak ones couldnt make the egg float). Feedback: The feedback was: Dear

ent type of chickens. Follow up question: -Does the temperature of the water effects an egg floating? -Will different types of salt change the result? -Will the type of cup or a container that contains the water effect the result?

Jun Woo, I think that you can add more details in your hypothesis. I think that different kinds of eggs will have a different amount of salt to float the egg because it can have different weights and the amount of yolk and egg white inside the egg might be different.
Feedback from Denny helped me very much. It made me think of a mistake I made; I used the same type of egg, but I didnt measure if it was produced in the same day, and the eggs parents; differ-

If I play computer or PSP games while playing chess with my dad, will

it affect my win or loses? Which one will affect me more? By: Edwin
Conclusion: My question is If I play computer or PSP games while playing chess with my dad, will it affect my win or loses? Which one will affect me more? My hypothesis was that I think that the game in computer will affect me more because I need to focus more and my hypothesis was supported by my data because I lost the most while playing computer game (The computer game name is Cross Fire [VN]). Source of error: I didn't actually think when I was playing cross fire in the computer while playing chess with my dad, I just moved randomly so I think that it's not that fair. Next time I can think before making a move in chess. Another mistake is that when I played the other games, I think I focus too much on them instead of focusing on the chess game. And my dad kept texting so maybe he werent focusing on the chess game too.

Always try your best! Then God will do the rest!!!!!

Use of feedback: The feedback helped me at nothing, because the guy just said that this is a cool experiment and nothing more. By the way I think he miss understood my experiment. He said: Hey Edwin!!!!!Im Kevin but I will be use K.J. for this account because there is 2 Kevin in our grade. So after I read

your question, its good question but its hard to experiment the chess in PSP and Computer because some people might like using computer or PSP to play chess and they might like it so its hard but I still like it and I also have PSP and maybe I can try your experiment.

Follow up questions: 1. Will my data change if I play a different game in the computer while playing chess with my dad? 2. Will the volume of the game's sound affect my data? 3. Will my data change if the surrounding is changed?
