A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the diameter, d, of a metal cylinder and its mass, m. Diagram 1.1 shows the five cylinders that were prepared. A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the object distance, u, and linear magnification, M, of the image formed by a convex lens. 1 The results of this experiment are shown in a graph of u against in Diagram 2 on M page 9. The results are used to determine the focal length of the convex lens.
