For this exhibition, Salerno Gallery presents a new multi discipline exhibition by Sydney based artist Simon Lovelace who is an English born artist whos prolific output includes painting, photography, screen printing and music production. Influenced by pop art culture

display the artists artwork is a normal painting. The size for all artwork is no bigger than A1 size (841mmx594mm) around A2 size but not that long. Also the artworks frame is painting on the canvas, and some paintings on the wood board, which is 3mm thick. Because the painting will hang on the wall when they display, the artist stick the 3 wood boards together,

and then laminate a glossy on each paintings in order to keep safety and not become damped. So when I first time look at the paintings, its really shine surface.

Because the artist Simon Lovelace Influenced by pop art which is an art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop art challenged tradition by asserting that an artists use of the mass-produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of fine art. The concept of pop art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it. It is widely interpreted as a reaction to the then-dominant ideas of abstract expressionism, as well as an expansion upon them. Pop art is aimed to employ images of popular as opposed to elitist culture in art, emphasizing the banal or kitschy elements of any

given culture, most often through the use of irony. It is also associated with the artists use of mechanical means of reproduction or rendering techniques. So lots of the Simon Lovelaces artwork is more pop art stylish. When Ive been there, I talk with the stuff that works in that gallery. He gave me a little explanation about the artwork. For this NOICON exhibition, the artist prefer make all painting lots fun for people. And in this exhibition the artist wants sale his proud artwork. When I come in the gallery, on the left hand side is an Its not you its the E talking. This is photography and then lady standing front of the wall, and lady rely on the mans the artist painting. The artwork is one suit man and one shoulder. Simon Lovelace painting off eyes, and the oil

painting like a tears flow down. But they still look happy.

I focus on this photography, because the Salerno Gallery websites home page is the same style photo. The artist takes a photo first and then painting off the eyes.

its the E talking

Its not you

The second interesting artwork is Untitled self portrait which the background is painting and out front of the painting is a portrait standing out of the painting. In additional, behind the portrait is the colorful lights. It will change the color every 10 seconds. The background painting is two nude women playing on the forest.

Untitled self portrait

Simon Lovelace has lots artwork painting on the wood board, which is 3mm thick. The first one is Champagne. The background is the wood color brown. And one lady wear suit like a policewoman and another one is nude with orange color hair. The policewomans hands touch the nude ladys nipple. They looks really revel this like in the clubbing. I guess their lesbian. Because the pop art most often through the use of irony in their artwork. In my opinion, the deeper meaning of this painting is the world becomes not balance. Because hundreds of people like homosexual love so that they cannot get heart. The world becomes dangers, because of rights, powers and financial resources.

According talk to the staff, I know the Black wings is already sold out. This artwork is painting on the canvas. It is painting half body of the Asian face looks girl. She wears a red jacket and long yellow earing. Her hands are holding the face, and the hair is plate made. She looking at her top left angle. Looks like watch Black wings something really enjoy and thinking. And the tablecloth is black and white strip. This painting is my favorite in this exhibition.

We can see though the glass window; they have two models, which is human body and animals head. Its called You will always remember and I will never forget. You will always remember is a ladys body, the color is white, and the head is cows head that is made by wood. The ox horn is made by steel. The black oil paint flows down the body. I will never forget is same ladys body and the head is the same materials, but color is black and the white oil paint flow down. These two models name is same meaning.

I will never forget

You will always remember

Conclusion Simon Lovelace Influenced by pop art, which is aimed to employ images of popular as opposed to elitist culture in art, emphasizes the banal or kitschy elements of any given culture, most often through the use of irony. It means the artwork has deeper meaning. Salerno Gallery presents a new multi discipline exhibition.
