Signs of the Last Days

Opening Scripture: Jeremiah 30

Genesis 49:1-2
1
And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that
which shall befall you in the last days.

2Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.

Acts 2:17-18
17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all
flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams:

18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and
they shall prophesy (Joel 2)

James 5:1-12
1Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

2Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.

3Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall
eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

4Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back
by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of
sabaoth.

5Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a
day of slaughter.

6Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

7Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth
for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and
latter rain.

8Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Deuteronomy 4:29-31
29But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him
with all thy heart and with all thy soul.  30When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are
come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient
unto his voice;  31(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither
destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
Signs of the Last Days
9Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth
before the door.

10Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of
suffering affliction, and of patience.

11Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have
seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

12But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by
any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

2 Peter 3:3-12
3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things
continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the
earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto
fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand
years, and a thousand years as one day.

9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance.

10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass
away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the
works that are therein shall be burned up.

11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in
all holy conversation and godliness,

12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire
shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Deuteronomy 4:29-31
29But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him
with all thy heart and with all thy soul.  30When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are
come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient
unto his voice;  31(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither
destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
Signs of the Last Days
2 Thessalonians 2:1-14
1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering
together unto him,

2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter
as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling
away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that
he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be
taken out of the way.

8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his
mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying
wonders,

10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not
the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because
God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and
belief of the truth:

14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-12
1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as
travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of
darkness.

6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an
helmet, the hope of salvation.

9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

2 Timothy 3:1-7
1
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those
that are good,

 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins,
led away with divers lusts,

7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

John 16:7-13
7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the
Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

 9Of sin, because they believe not on me;

 10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

12I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not
speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things
to come. (Hebrews 1:1-7)

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but
by me.

Matthew 24:3-14
3
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us,
when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the
world?

4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things
must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines,
and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all
nations for my name's sake.

10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all
nations; and then shall the end come.

Luke 21:12-21
12But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to
the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

13And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

14Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

15For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to
gainsay nor resist.

16And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of
you shall they cause to be put to death.

17And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

18But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

19In your patience possess ye your souls.

Mark 13:9-12
9
But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye
shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony
against them.  10And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

11But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall
speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye:
for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

12Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise
up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
John 16:1-6
1These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

2They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will
think that he doeth God service.

3And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

4But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told
you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

5But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

6But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

Luke 21:20-21
20
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof
is nigh.

21Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of
it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

2 Timothy 3:8-12
8Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt
minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also
was.

10But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity,
patience,

11Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what

persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10
 6Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven
with his mighty angels,

8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of
our Lord Jesus Christ:

9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the
glory of his power;

10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe
(because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

John 12:48
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have
spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (

John 6:40
37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise
cast out.

38For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should
lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on
him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

2 Timothy 3:13-17
13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of
whom thou hast learned them;

15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise
unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

John 10:25-26
25Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name,
they bear witness of me.

26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. (John 4:34, 6:29)

Luke 9:22-27
22
Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests
and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

23And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his
cross daily, and follow me.

24For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the
same shall save it.

25For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

26For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be
ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

27But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they
see the kingdom of God.

Matthew 10:32-38
32
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father
which is in heaven.

33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in
heaven.

34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother,
and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or
daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-28
9
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the
Lord, and admonish you;

13And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among
yourselves.

14Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support
the weak, be patient toward all men.
15See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both
among yourselves, and to all men.
 16Rejoice evermore.
 17Pray without ceasing.
18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
 19Quench not the Spirit.
 20Despise not prophesyings.
21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul
and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
 25Brethren, pray for us.
26Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
27I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
