Computer Specialist Groton, MA
Computer Specialist developing 21st Century Skills within students in grades K-4. Students visited the computer lab weekly as a special, and utilized laptops, iPads, and other technologies available in the district to build computer literacy skills. Responsibilities include: Working with classroom teachers to develop lesson plans and co-teach research & project based learning experiences. Developing skills in students including basic computer operation & knowledge, touch typing skills, critical thinking, online research, presentation development, problem solving, and basic Microsoft Office knowledge. Basic troubleshooting of equipment to assist larger IT staff, and expand the computer knowledge of the building staff. Served as a long-term substitute paraprofessional & daily on-call substitute during the 2010-2011 school year. Special Education Paraprofessional working with students in grades 5 with Individualized Education Plans to assist them in achieving the curriculum taught in the classroom. (Long-Term Substitute Assignment from Apr, 2011 - Jun, 2011) Substitute teacher for all subjects in grades 5-12. Boy Scout Resident Camp serving over 1,400 Scouts throughout New England each summer. Responsibilities include: Assisting with the day-to-day operations within the camp, human resources, payroll & budgeting, public relations & marketing, and strategic planning, as well as year-round planning prior to the summer season. Responsible for a budget of $475,000, approximately 65 paid staff members, and over 1,400 campers throughout the season. Planning & implementation of a week long staff development program, during which all staff members participate in 45+ hours of training and set up of camp. Previous positions include Older Boy Program Director, & Counselor-in-Training Director. Developing programs for teenage boys including team building, high adventure activities, and other experiences not suited for the younger participants attending camp.

Increases in standard report automation from a weekly all-day manual process to a 2.5 hour automated process. Member of the Information Systems Team supporting approximately 200 employees in a mixed office and lab company R&D engineering facility in a Windows Server and Lotus Notes e-mail environment. Key accomplishments include: Successful deployment of approximately 50 new laptops over a two month period in Summer 2006. Procedure development to assist fellow team members with quicker desktop & laptop deployments. Working with site employees to further their knowledge about technology and how to better use it to their advantage.
