2nd Annual Kingman Yacht Center North / South Offshore Challenge TOURNAMENT RULES

1. The Captains Meeting is required and will be held on September 2 Kingman Yacht Club at 5:30 2. There is no weather committee. The decision to fish is left solely to participants who do so at their own risk. 3. IGFA rules (exception: spreader bars, cockpit harpoons and passing a rod is allowed). Official tournament time is local GPS time. 4. Unlimited tackle, 130 lb. line test maximum fighting from Rod holders, fighting chairs or fighting posts are allowed. 5. Bang sticks, guns are not allowed to be used during the tournament, per IGFA rules. 6. There is no limit to the number of fishing rods. 7. Every vessel is free to leave from any dock location after conclusion of Captains meeting approximately 6:30pm September 2cnd 8. All boats must be inside the Kingman Yacht Center Mooring Field and in position to weigh their fish no later than 5:30 PM September 3th. Weigh station will open at 4:00. 9. The Tournament Channel will be 71. 10. Boats can back into the travel lift for the weigh station. 11. Any protests must be made in writing and presented to the Tournament Committee by 6:00 PM each day. 12. All fish weighed in for prize consideration must be caught from a registered boat. This is a boat tournament, only in the event of a mechanical failure may participants fish from another vessel. The Tournament Committee must be advised prior to a vessel change. 13. Fish will be disqualified if not properly cared for. i.e. mutilated or not iced. 14. All fish are the boats property. 15. All decisions regarding any and all issues made by the Tournament Committee are final. There are no refunds. Unless the tournament is cancelled 16. Sportsmen like conduct ashore and afloat is expected of all participants and their guests. 17. Live bait is allowed. 18. Official release is the leader man or women touching the leader .

** Each boat must follow the guidelines of their respective permit and only one school to medium BFT can be weighed. Do to the closure of GBFT fishery for recreational permit holders there will be a flat 50 points for any large to GBFT caught or released. Fish measuring more than 59 inches, weight pounds will be disqualified. All released fish must be videotaped or captured with a digital camera with the KYC logo in the picture. KYC logo will be provided at the captains meeting.

2011 Recreational Atlantic Tunas Retention Limits


The current recreational daily bluefin tuna (BFT) retention for limit for HMS Angling (private recreational) vessels one BFT (measuring 27 to less than 59 inches) per vessel per day/trip. The current recreational BFT retention limit for HMS Charter/headboat vessels (while fishing recreationally) is one school BFT (measuring 27 to less than 47 inches) and one large school BFT (measuring 47 to less than 59 inches) per vessel per day/trip. The recreational yellowfin tuna daily retention limit is 3 yellowfin/person/day/trip. The minimum size for yellowfin and bigeye tuna is 27" curved fork length. There are no recreational limits for bigeye, skipjack or albacore tunas. The recreational daily swordfish retention limit is 1 fish per person, with a maximum of 4 fish per private vessel, 6 for a charter vessel, and 15 for a headboat vessel. The minimum size for swordfish within the recreational fishery is 47 inches, lower jaw-fork length.

All fish must meet minimum weight/size requirements. Overall winning score will be the combined total points. Under no circumstances may a vessel exceed the daily bag limit and minimum size of a species as set forth by federal regulation.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY


THIS FORM MUST BE SIGNED BY EACH CONTESTANT. BOATS WITHOUT SIGNED WAIVERS FOR EACH PARTICIPATING CONTESTANT WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENT. Fishing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Contestants in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. Kingman Yacht Club LLC, Kingman Yacht Center, Inc., Kingman Yacht Center LLC, their officers and employees, the tournament organizers, the tournament committee, tournament volunteers, sponsors, or any other organization or official (hereinafter referred to as the tournament organizers), will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any contestant, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event or from any cause during or related to the event. By participating in this event, each contestant agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such contestants participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law. In consideration for permission to participate in the event, the contestant agrees to the following: 1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby waive any rights I may have to sue the tournament organizers involved with the event with respect to personal injury or property damage that I may suffer, or that I may cause as a result of my participation in this event, and hereby release the tournament organizers from any liability for such injury or damage. 2. I recognize that fishing and boating are activities that have an inherent risk of damage and injury associated with them. I agree that I am participating in this event entirely at my own risk. 3. I acknowledge and agree that neither the tournament organizers nor the tournament committee, nor their members, will be responsible for (a) any damage to the entered boat or any of my property; (b) any damage to other property that may be caused by the entered boat, its skipper or crew; or (c) any injury to myself or my fellow contestants, or any injury to any other person caused by myself or my fellow contectants, including death, sustained as a result of the participation of myself, my fellow contestants and the boat in this event. 4. I have taken all necessary steps to ensure that I am adequately prepared for all possible contingencies, including appropriate safety equipment as may be required by law or that a prudent seaman would consider advisable. 5. I agree to indemnify the tournament organizers for any costs or liabilities for any personal injury or property damage suffered by myself, my fellow contestants, or any other person or property, which they may incur as a result of their or my participation in this event. 6. I understand this document has important legal consequences and have consulted such legal and other advisors as I deem appropriate before signing. If any part or parts of this document shall be held unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of this document shall continue in full force and effect. If any provision of this document is deemed invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, and if limiting such provision would make the provision valid, then such provision shall be deemed to be construed as so limited.
