67th. Year 7 Boys: Steven Marsters 61st, Nick Uhilia Did Not Finish because he helped a Kohimarama student who had fallen over and badly hurt themself back to the start line. Year 8 Girls: Alex Benjamin 36th, Aida Teiho 67th, Camilla Teiho 68th. Year 8 Boys: Duot Gak 61st, Damon Williams 66th, Phoenix Nicholls 80th, Robert Heta 99th.

Bailey Road HEART / Manawa


Empathy/Aroha Losaline Takavaha, Amber Arendse, Joseph Fale & Latisha Chand these four students displayed our HEART values when they stopped a fight. All were given a Lunch Room voucher. Nicholas Uhila Rm 16 showing empathy at the Eastern Zone Cross Country Competition by helping a student from another school after he fell over and hurt himself and supported the boy back to the officials. Affirmation/Whakau Blade Kamuhemu Rm 17 was selected to the Toa Samoan Under 11 Rugby League Team. Congratulations Blade. Respect/Manaaki Gracie Dawson, Monica Gk & Biancia Waddel all from Rm 22 collecting rubbish at lunchtime.

Soccer Results

Results: Game 1: Bailey Road 2 and Glen Innes 1 (Win) Game 2: Bailey Road 1 and Tamaki Primary 1 (Draw) Game 3: Bailey Road 0 and Panmure Bridge 1 (Loss) Game 4 semi: Bailey Road 1& Sylvia Park 1 (Draw) Game 5 final: Bailey Road 1 and Ruapotika 1 (Draw) Overall Placing: Bailey Road 5th out of 11 schools with only one game lost. Well done to the Year 6 mixed soccer team!

Financial Literacy
The ASB Bank will be visiting our school on 15th, 16th, 19th and 21st September to teach our students about financial literacy. The ASB does this programme for free in schools and it is aimed at teaching children the basics about budgeting and saving money. The programme will be taught to all students that attend Bailey Road School.

Community Night
Magical Maths Evening. Parents/caregivers are invited to a fun evening on ways to help children with maths. Maths facilitator Helen Walters will teach easy activities to do at home. There will be a door prize of a $50.00 Uniform Voucher. Bring a friend and go in the draw twice. Supper will be provided. When: Time: Where: Tuesday 27th September 7.00pm Staffroom

C3 Church Free Fair


Many of you will remember the school fair that the C3 Church put on for Bailey Road School in 2010. Well they are back again this year promising to provide us with more treats and free stuff. WHEN: Saturday 3rd September 2011 WHERE: Our school WHO: It is for Bailey Road School children and their immediate family members. START: 11.00am FINISH: 1.00pm Come along and enjoy the day. Support the school. Note the time change for finishing is now 1.00pm not 2.00pm as previously stated. This has been decided by the C3 Church.

This year we are hosting the Tamaki Schools Cross Country Tournament. This tournament is for Yrs 3 -6. Come along and watch your child/ren participate. Rain date is set for 28th September.

Sports Results
Cross Country The 2011 Eastern Zone Year 7 and 8 Cross Country Championship was held at Churchill Park in Glendowie on Thursday 25th August. A large number of students competed in this event with Year 7 students running 3 kilometres and Year 8 students running 3.5 kilometres on a very demanding course. Bailey Road students performed well, especially Alex and Nick. Well done to all students.

Art Show
