In Remembrance of September 11th:

On September 11, 2001, our world changed in so many ways. On that day as we remember, 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. According to their plot, the hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and thousands of those working in the buildings. Both towers collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and damaging others. A third airliner was crashed into the Pentagon. The hijackers directed the fourth plane toward Washington, D.C., targeting either the Capitol Building or the White House, but crashed it in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to retake control of the airliner. There were no survivors from any of the flights. Nearly 3,000 victims and the 19 hijackers died in the attacks. Among the 2,753 victims who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center were 343 firefighters and 60 police officers from New York City and the Port Authority, and 8 private emergency medical technicians and paramedics. Another 184 people were killed in the attack on the Pentagon. The overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians, including people from over 70 countries. It is this event as well as other tragic events that should cause us to ponder and think about how precious life is and how quickly and suddenly without warning it can be snuffed out. In times like these we need to draw near to our Savior Jesus, seeking His guidance and protection. We should give thanks to Him for each new day we awake to live for Him. We should seek to live in such a way so as to spread His Gospel and to shine the light of His love throughout the world. We need to shine His light to those who sit in the darkness of sin and we need to show His love to all who suffer because of the darkness of sin. With love for all of you,

A Little Humor from the Pastor:

Sorry, Wrong Number One Sunday morning Mother decided to play a joke on my sister by phone. Dialing the number, she heard someone pick up the receiver, her cue to say in a deep voice, "This is God speaking. Why aren't you in church?" To Mom's horror, she had dialed the wrong number. Smile, God loves you Proverbs 17:22, A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit

The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. Psalm 145:17-20
