rhus, Denmark
rhus is located on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula and it is the second largest city in Denmark. Founded by the Vikings in the year 1000, the city began to expand in 1900 because of industrialization. Greater rhus now has a population of half a million people, and the citys population is increasing steadily every year. The Danish School of Journalism is one of several Universities in rhus, so there is a high proportion of young people in the area. The City of rhus places great importance on preserving and protecting the environment. Public transportation and bikes are a high priority, and green parks fill the city. Conserving energy and recycling are also emphasized. rhus calls itself the smallest big city in the world, due to its cultural wealth. Some of its cultural features include a lively music scene, many good discotheques, a casino, a variety of museum, art galleries, international cuisine, a vast number of sporting facilities, and bowling alleys. rhus is an excellent connection point to both the rest of Scandinavia and other parts of Europe. arhus is approximately four hours from Copenhagen by car and ferry.
