The Students Union Compact

The student compact is an agreement between both City College Norwich Students Union and the student representative. The Compact is a binding affirmation of both the commitment of the Students Union to its Student Reps and to the Student Voice, and the Student Reps commitment to represent, extend and defend the principles of the Student Voice. 1. I (Please enter your name) will regularly seek the views and opinions of my fellow students in my school. 2. I will attend and actively take part in Student Parliament and School Councils taking forward the views and experiences of my fellow students in the form of discussions, motions and/or policy. 3. I will work with staff in order to resolve issues within my school. I know that working with staff will develop a stronger student voice. 4. I will hold meetings with and consult my fellow students before and after every meeting to ensure they are fully up-to-date with all ongoing discussions. This will be done through the different methods detailed in the Communication Strategy of the Students Union. 5. I will support the Students Union and City College Norwich in developing a stronger Student Voice, helping to make the College a better place to learn and develop both professionally and personally. 6. I will assist and direct my fellow students to college services as and when required, e.g. Students Union, Advice Shop, Information Store, Student Services etc. 7. I will adhere to the Students Unions rules and regulations as laid out by the Constitution. 8. I will attend Students Union training for Student Representatives as and when required, and will use the experience gained to become a better representative of the Student Voice 9. I will not behave in any way which may bring me, the Students Union or City College Norwich into disrepute. 10. Even though my role as a Student Representative may only last a year, I will continue to be an ambassador for the College and the Students Union.

I , President of the Students Union will endeavour to take the views and wishes of our fellow Students onwards to senior managers in order that the Student Voice is heard at all levels of the college. 2. I will listen to the wishes of both School Councils and Student Parliament and promise to lead the Students Union in working to achieve the actions that we will be set. 3. As a member of Principalship and senior management, I will ensure the Student Voice is a major policy maker in the college, with your ideas and beliefs at the heart of it. 4. I will ensure that time and resources are available for Student Representatives to meet with fellow students at regular intervals, so that their voices may be truly heard. 5. I, as President of the Students Union will work tirelessly with staff and students to develop a stronger Student Voice at the College and within the Students Union. 6. I, along with staff, will work to ensure that the students of City College Norwich have the services they need to succeed in their education. 7. I will work to ensure that the Students Union works by the rules and regulations of the Constitution. 8. I, as President of the Students Union, will develop and maintain a system of effective training for all student representatives and executive officers. 9. I will promise to work and behave in the best interests of the students, the Students Union and City College Norwich. 10. As the Prime Student Representative of City College Norwich Students Union, I will be the focal point of the Student Voice, both at home and away, and will ensure that with any work we do outside of the campus will be in the best interests of the students of City College Norwich.
