Application of CFD Numerical Simulation in High Speed Train Design

Abstract : The aero dynamic performance of high speed t rain ( HS T) is related to t he p rop ul sive efficiency and has
influence o n t he riding co mfortabilit y and securit y. CFD numerical simulatio n of HS T applicatio ns is int roduced
in t his paper : t he vent system of passenger t rains by Airpak ; water swaying in water drums of passenger
t rains , o uter flow fields of high speed t rains and aerodynamic noises generated by t he flow fluid aro und t he 2d
st reamline HS T mo del by Fluent . The co mp utatio nal result of t he vent system agrees wit h t he experimental re2
sult . The buckling analysis f ro m I2D EA S integrating Fluent agrees wit h t he failure p heno meno n of t he water
drum.
