The project must include a home page (with file name index.html), a minimum of three additional pages linked from that page, and at least one style sheet for all pages. All work must be your original creative work. No, you may not use WordPress. Any topic that interests you is suitable for the project, but it needs to differ appreciably from the site you created during the exercises. What I will look for 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Four original HTML documents, linked to one another and to at least one CSS file (style sheet), for a total of five files Coherent navigation throughout your site External links (meaning more than one, perhaps one to your WordPress site, if you like) A standard footer on each page, to include at least the creation or copyright date, the date updated, and contact information Standard HTML elements and conventions, such as doctype and meta tags that pass inspection with the markup validator Hidden commentsat least one per filein your HTML and your CSS At least one background image, of any type Font family and color designations, including link colors, and at least one variation in font size At least one use each of class, ID, div, and span

10. At least one use each of padding, border, and margin 11. At least one page with more than one column and use of float; liquid layout is optional 12. At least one page that uses HTML5 page layout Please note that your project will be assessed on the required elements as well as on the overall quality of coding, content, design, and presentation, including usability and accessibility. Your final project will be assessed with more rigor than your weekly exercises were, as this project is a demonstration of your cumulative coding and design skills. Make wise use of the markup, CSS, and WAVE validators, which you can find linked from the class site in the right sidebar under Validation. The final project is worth 25 points. See the Project Rubric < http://753.donhamerly.info/to-do/final-web-site-project/rubric/ > for additional helpful information. How to get your points Double check your work before submitting it to be sure you have included all the requirements. Use the validators to catch any errors in your markup and CSS. Once you are satisfied with your work, email the URL for your main page to Professor Hamerly: dhamerly@dom.edu. Email the URL for your completed final project by 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 24.

Special instructions and notes Do not post your work to the class site. Create a new directory for your final project. Give your directory a short, simple name that is unique to you and your project. For example, if I were doing my final project on my family history, I might name my directory hamerlys. Email me the full URL for your project: http://www.yourdomainname.com/directory. (But dont call your directory directory! See bullet above.) Be as creative as you like, but be most mindful of the required elements. Keep it simple, fundamentalists. If you have any questions or concerns, email me right away.
