Supreme Council for Romania (S.C.R.

) 130th Anniversary
- Civilizations and welfare of the human family -

Beloved Brethren, Due to technical issues, the Grand Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Romania founded in 1881 decided to change the official date for the celebration of its 130th Anniversary from September 4th to 6th to September 8th to 10th, 2011. Therefore we reiterate our official invitation for September 8th to 10th, 2011. In addition you shall find attached here the official program of our celebrations and additional information regarding the Masonic and cultural events, hostage and more info about Romania and Bucharest. The theme elected for the Supreme Councils 130 th Anniversary is Civilizations and welfare of the human family. The World Conference will focus on the contribution of each civilization to the welfare of the humanity, enhancing the principles of Tolerance, Fraternity, Unity and Universality. Renowned specialists from around the world were invited to attend the international event here in Bucharest and therefore to be part of the lecturers panel. Among those invited we mention just a few of them such as: 1. His Holiness Tenzin GYATSO the 14th DALAI LAMA (as guest of honour), spiritual leader of Tibet. 2. Prof. Bruno Guiderdoni (Director of Research at the Paris Institute of Astrophysics. His main research field is in galaxy formation and evolution. He has published more than 80 papers and has organized several international conferences on these issues. He is one of the referent experts on Islam in France and has published 30 papers on Islamic theology and mystics. He was in charge of a French television program called "Knowing Islam" from 1993 to 1999, and is now the director of the Islamic Institute for Advanced Studies). 3. Prof. Christian Duverger (Is a French Mesoamerican. He is director of the Center for Research on Hispanic America (CRAP) and director of studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences

Sociales (EHESS) where he holds the chair of social and cultural anthropology of Mesoamerica). 4. Prof. Jean-Nol Robert (Is a French orientalist, specialist in the history of Buddhism in Japan and Chinese history. He is the author of the French translation of the Lotus Sutra, the founding text of Mahayana Buddhism from the ancient Chinese text). 5. Prof. Ys Tardan-Maquelier (She is a writer, historian of religion specializing in Hinduism. She teaches at Eastern spirituality University of Paris IV-Sorbonne and the Institut Catholique de Paris). 6. Prof. Dr. Cpt. Balaram Biswakumar (He is the Grand Master of India. He has an advanced degree of M.D. in General Medicine from JIPMER, Pondicherry and D.M. in Neurology from the Madras Medical College, Chennai; Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai; and, various paramedical institutions in Chennai and Salem. Additionally, he also served as Honorary Neurologist at the Government General Hospital, Chennai from 1970 to 1986. He is an active member of the following professional bodies: Indian Medical Association, Association of Physicians of India, Neurological Society of India, Indian Academy of Neurology, World Stroke Association, Movement Disorders Society, Chicago, and, New York Academy of Sciences. Besides, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, U.K. and of the International College of Angiology. He served the Indian Army as an Emergency Commissioned Officer in the Army Medical Corps from 1963 to 1967 and was honourably discharged with the rank of Captain. He saw active service in Jammu and Kashmir and the Indo - Pakistan War, in recognition of which he was awarded the J & K Service Medal as well as the 1965 War Medal). 7. Salim M.J. Chimthanawala (is P.G.Swd.Br. of the Grand Lodge of India, knowing the Hindu civilization as being born and living in India). 8. Prof. Thophile Obenga (He is an important representative of Congo-Brazzaville, as Personal Representative of the President of Congo in charge of the Development oh High Education. He is also professor emeritus, formerly at San Francisco State University, in the Africana Studies Center. He was born in 1936 in Brazzaville, French Equatorial Africa today in the Republic of the Congo. Prof. Obenga is a proponent of Pan-Africanism and has advocated a number of theories such as a "Negro-Egyptian" language family including all languages of Africa, an approach which he shares with Cheikh Anta Diop. Prof. Obenga holds a PhD in Letters, Arts and Humanities from Montpellier University,

France. He contributed as part of the United Nations Educational and Scientific Cultural Organization (UNESCO) program, to the writing of the General History of Africa and the Scientific and Cultural History of Humanity. He was, until the end of 1991, Director General of the Centre International des Civilisations Bantu (CICIBA) in Libreville, Gabon. He is the Director and Chief Editor of the journal Ankh. From January 28 to February 3, 1974 at Cairo, Egypt, Obenga accompanied Cheikh Anta Diop as Africa's representatives to the UNESCO symposium on The Peopling of Ancient Egypt and the Deciphering of the Meroitic Script). 9. Prof. Dr. Emil Cornitescu (He is a renowned Romanian professor at the University of Tomis and a connoisseur of the Judeo-Christian civilizations. Appreciated both by Christian and Jewish communities).
