Role Title: Assistant Site Manager. Scale 3. Full time, 36.

25 Hours (in consultation with Site Manager to ensure school cover between 7.00 am and 6.30 pm) Holiday entitlement 23 days per year, plus 2 extra Statutory Days, plus 8 Bank Holidays.

Purpose of the role (job statement) To assist the Governors and Headteacher in ensuring that all staff, students and other users of the school enjoy a healthy and safe teaching and learning environment via an efficient and effective site management service. Principal Responsibilities The person appointed, in addition to carrying out key duties particularly assigned by the Headteacher, will; Assist in the implementation of the aims and objectives of the school. Maintain and develop the distinct ethos and character of the school in accordance with the directions given by the Governors and subject therto direction given by the Headteacher. Be as visible and accessible as possible throughout the school day to provide encouragement and support for students learning and, drive an ongoing focus on the schools distinctive ethos and high expectations. In consultation with the Site Manager ensure that all areas of the site are safe, secure, clean and attractive. Ensure a high quality of maintenance within the site via a planned programme of activities. Carry out repairs, replacements and refurbishment on the site, as required. Report major faults to the Headteacher and Business Manager at the earliest opportunity as they occur. Be responsible for Health & Safety within the site in consultation with the Site Manager and Business Manager. Manage site and contracted staff as directed Monitor the work of contract staff including building maintenance, grounds maintenance, cleaning services and window cleaning. Consult with the Site Manager on the process for attending alarm activations when required. Support the Site Manager in ensuring that all documentation relating to the site is kept in order and is available for inspection by H & S/Audit. Undertake any training courses or develop new skills as required for the post. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as directed by the Headteacher The postholder is entitled to a break of reasonable length in the course of each school day. Contribute to developing an extra curricular/extended school programme. Contribute to strategies allowing students to make a positive contribution to the school and wider community. Support the work of teachers/support staff in running clubs and activities Indicative qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience

GCSe C+ qualifications/equivalent in Maths and English desirable

A relevant vocational, or Degree level qualifications desirable. Skills in engaging, motivating and inspiring young people aged 11-16 to learn desirable Experience of site/estates maintenance and development essential Health and Safety/NEBOSH qualifications desirable.
