POINTS FOR PHILOSOPHICAL REFLECTION:

1. HOW DID FILM STORY PRESENTED MANS DESIRE FO FREEDOM? HOW WAS FREEDOM DEFINED THROUGH AN EXTRAORDINARILY ORDINARY LIFE OF MAN (TRUMAN BURBANK) ADOPTED BY CORPORATION TO BECOME A STAR OF A LIVE TELEVISION SHOW WITHOUT HIM KNOWING IT? In the film The Truman Show, it clearly presented freedom when he noticed weird things happening on his everything just to find the answer on all questions on his mind truth behind those weird things. Freedom was defined as the ability to do ordinary things everything was unreal. Or simply saying freedom is an act believed were all real. Trumans desire for town/studio. He did and to search for the without knowing that of doing things you

2. IS THERE SUCH A THING AS FREEDOM INSIDE THE TELEVISION SHOW AS COMMPARED TO A POSSIBILITY OF A DIFFERENT LIFE EXPERIENCE OUTSIDET HE SHOW? IN WHAT SENSE? WRITE A SHORT COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO POSSIBLE EXPERIENCES OF FREEDOM. DESCRIBE AND EXPLAIN YOU PERSPECTIVE. Literally, theres no such thing as freedom inside the television show as compared to different life experience outside the show because everything that happens on the show is controlled by Christof. In the world outside the show, people can do things they want without controlling them by other people but inside the show, all things are controlled by one person even though the life inside the show is perfect for Truman. Things are repeatedly happening every day, sometimes simultaneously. Moreover, inside the show, there are no conflicts between two parties. Everything seems to be perfect. All are accordingly arranged and happened based on what the scripts says until he discovered the truth. 3. WHAT RELIGIOUS IMAGES DO YOU RECOGNIZE AND THAT WHICH YOU CAN DERIVE RELIGIOUS MEANING FROM THE STORY AND WHAT DO THEY SIGNIFICANTLY REPRESENT IN TERMS OF RELATING IT TO YOUR RELIGIOUS FAITH? One religious image in the story is Crucifixion which was happened when Truman was on boat. He tied the rope in himself in cross-shaped. Another is Baptism. Since he must go through the water to reach "real" life. Note that the water is always there, calling to him in the film, but his fear holds him back. In his final surrender to the water, he finds life. I realized from that scene that no matter how big our problem is, all we must do is to strengthen our faith to God and all things will be alright. 4. WHAT KIND OF LOGICAL LIFE PERSPECTIVE CAN JUSTIFY THE WORK, INTENTION AND LIFE PLAN OF THE CORPORATION AND ITS CREATOR (CHRISTOFF) TO REGARD THE LIFE OF TRUMAN AS A SHOW BUSINESS COMMODITY? STATE AND EXPLAIN YOU PERSPECTIVE.

Undoubtedly, controlling Trumans life and making him as a show business commodity is definitely wrong. But Christof and the corporation have a good intention for the audiences and that is to present the The Truman Show as an inspiration outside the show.

5. DO YOU LOGICALLY BELIEVE THAT TRUMAN IS BETTER TO EXPERIENCE LIFE TO THE FULLEST IN ALL ASPECT OUTSIDE THE SHOW? OR DO YOU THINK IT MUCH BETTER IF HE JUST STAYED AND WENT TO EXPERIENCE LIFE AS IT IS BEAUTIFULLY CHARTED FOR HIM BY CHRISTOF AND THE CORPORATION? STATE AND EXPLAIN YOU PERSPECTIVE. For me, it is much better if he just stayed and went to experience life as it is beautifully charted for him by Christof and the corporation because inside the show, he can assure that his story is perfect and will have a happy ending like how common films end. But if I am going to consider such thing as freedom, he chose the right way which is to went out through the door to experience life outside the show where he can live freely without worrying that anybody controls him. Everything outside the show is real.
