    Acts as a competitive muscarinic receptor antagonist Urinary retention, gastric retention, Significant bladder
    resulting in inhibition of cholinergically mediated outflow obstruction (increased risk of urinary retention),
    bladder contraction. Decreased urinary frequency, Common side effects
    urgency, and urge incontinence. headache, dizziness, dry mouth

    Interactions with other patient drugs, OTC or Lab value alterations caused by medicine
    herbal medicines (ask patient specifically) None known for this drug
    Morphine - Coadministration of narcotic analgesics
    Be sure to teach the patient the following about this
    with anticholinergic agents may have additive
    medication
    central nervous system (CNS) and gastrointestinal
    Instruct patient to take tolterodine exactly as directed. May
    (GI) system effects, and increase the risk of severe
    cause dizziness and blurred vision. Caution patient to avoid
    constipation or paralytic ileus and CNS depression.

    Patients who regularly consume grapefruits and
    grapefruit juice should be monitored for adverse
    effects and altered plasma concentrations of drugs
    that are metabolized by CYP450 3A4. Grapefruits
    and grapefruit juice should be avoided if an
    interaction is suspected. Orange juice is not expected
    to interact with these drugs.
