What is Man Newsletter 321 July 2005 PM What is man?

When God says something, unless it is in a parable, don't try to change what He said. You don't need someone to interpret. Our Father means what He says. All you have to do is listen. God told us what man is from the beginning. Open your Bibles to Genesis. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living soul. As an oversimplification, we could say man is dirt without God. Many Christians spend a great deal of time worrying about offending those who are opposed to Christianity. Friends, they are dirt. It is as simple as that. Don't worry about offending them, try to convert them. There is actually a little more to it than that. Man has a choice. We can choose to absorb the Holy Spirit and be blessed, or we can be dirt. If you love God you are going to choose to have the Spirit of God abide in you and you in Him. Turn with me to Psalm 103. Psalm 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name. When you love and serve God, there is more within you than just dirt. Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Do you ever need healing and forgiveness? Those are benefits you can claim, if you do things His way. Psalm 103:4 Who redeemed the life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; God is able to redeem your soul from hell. He is your kinsman redeemer. He is your Father. What is man? You can be a child of the Living God or just dirt. Psalm 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. His Word satisfies and renews us. Psalm 103:6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed, 7 He made known His ways unto Moses, His acts unto the children of Israel. God gave us the law, and He told us exactly what He would do for us. You don't need someone to interpret His Word. His Word is real, and it is true. Psalm 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. 9 He will not always chide: neither will He keep His anger for ever. Our Father is very patient; however, when we need and deserve chastisement, He will correct those He loves.

Psalm 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquites. The chastisement we receive is always less than we deserve. Why? We serve a God of love. He loves us. Psalm 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him. Do you reverence and worship God? Then He has a great amount of mercy towards you. If you don't, then His mercy for you might be a little more limited, perhaps about as high as the dirt is above the earth. Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us. When our Father forgives our sins, they are blotted out. They don't exist anymore. Be careful not to doubt this promise by bringing your past sins up to Him again after they have been forgiven. Don't ever doubt God's abilities. Psalm 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear Him. 14 For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust. The word "frame" in verse fourteen means "conception". Think about that a minute. This means you have to go a long way back before Genesis 2:7 to understand this verse. You have to go back to the first earth age, when God formed your soul. God knows what you were before dirt, that is to say your flesh, had anything to do with it. Father knows what your soul did at Satan's rebellion in the first earth age. God knows He can count on His election, because they stood against Satan before. Psalm 103:15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. 16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. Flesh man doesn't amount to much. Like the flowers of the field, our flesh is here today and gone tomorrow. Psalm 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children; Flesh is temporal. The flesh man returns to dust, but there an eternity for the souls who love and serve God. There is a whole lot more to living than the flesh alone. Psalm 103:18 To such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember His commandments to do them. 19 The LORD hath prepared His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all. The choice is yours. With God you may live eternally. Without God you are basically dirt. Psalm 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word. Do you listen to the voice of the Lord? I know most of you listen

Chapter by Chapter and verse by verse. Psalm 103:21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye His hosts: ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure. 22 Bless the LORD, all His works in all places of His dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul. Why shouldn't we bless Him? His eternal kingdom awaits us. Fortunately, we are but strangers in this flesh life. We know that there is so much more that awaits us. Psalm 104:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with honour and majesty. 2 Who coverest Thyself with light as with a garment: Who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Sometimes you can look upon nature and see God without even realizing it. You can see God in the majesty of nature, if you are able to absorb His creation. Psalm 104:3 Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters: Who maketh the clouds His chariot: Who walketh upon the wings of the wind. 4 Who maketh His angels spirits; His ministers a flaming fire: His ministers are a flaming fire of truth. Psalm 104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever, 6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains, 7 At Thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of Thy thunder they hasted away. God is in control. Skip with me to verse twenty-nine. Psalm 104:29 Thou hidest Thy face, they are troubled: Thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. What is man without God? Dirt. God only hides His face from those that have chosen to leave Him out of their lives. Again, the choice is yours. Psalm 104:30 Thou sendest forth Thy spirit, they are created: and Thou renewest the face of the earth, 31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in His works. The Lord will rejuvinate the earth as it is written in Revelation Chapter 21. His kingdom will be established on earth forever. Make certain you are there. Psalm 104:32 He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: He toucheth the hills, and they smoke. We have all these things going on. Do you see God in His marvelous actions and workings? Psalm 104:33 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. Do you have your being, or are you dirt? The choice is yours. In conclusion, let's turn to I Corinthians. Paul is teaching that we all have two bodies.

1 Corinthians 15:39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial in one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. All flesh returns to dirt, when we die. Our spiritual body doesn't die, when our flesh body dies. 1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. Every human being is different. You are unique. 1 Corinthians 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: Our flesh bodies are perishable. Our spiritual bodies are incorruptible. 1 Corinthians 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. We all have an inner man. That is very important for us to understand. Unfortunately, all too many allow their flesh body to rule over their spiritual body. It is much better to put your spiritual body in charge of your flesh body. The flesh is weak. 1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, "The first man Adam was made a living soul;" the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. The first man Adam is the one we were talking about in Genesis 2. The last man Adam is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. The first man Adam was formed of the earth. The second man Adam, that is to say Jesus, is the Lord. It was written His name shall be Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14). "Immanuel" means "God with us". 1 Corinthians 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. It is your choice. You can be earthy, like dirt, or you can be heavenly with your spiritual being in charge. 1 Corinthians 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly, so Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. What is man? Flesh man is dirt. Spiritual man will enter heaven, even if but long enough for judgment. Put your spiritual man in charge of the dirt man so you are able to be in heaven much longer

than just for judgment. In His Service, Arnold Murray
