1 Safety
Safety regulations
Before beginning mechanical or electrical installations, ensure that you are familiar
with the safety regulations described in Operating manual - General safety
information
"Safety" has to be studied carefully before starting the work. Strictly follow the
given instructions to avoid hazards and injury.
Safety notes
Consider the following general safety instructions
WARNING
When working with the robot riser, switch off the robot and protect against
reconnection.
Do not apply excessive force. Even minor damage can impair the function
considerably.
Sources of danger
The base plates and robot risers are used under an industrial robot. Robots have
a very high diversity of movement and work with high accelerations. In automatic
mode, the robot is programmed to function automatically. People can suffer serious
and fatal injuries by the movement of the robot. With unqualified personnel /
accidental operations with the robot controller can cause serious damages to the
robot devices. This can even result in causing injury to the people who work close
with the equipment.
2 Technical overview
The function of a robot riser is to absorb robot load in static and running condition. It helps to position
the robot at different heights.

CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Do not stand under or near overhead loads.
WARNING
Requirements
The following floor conditions should be met before laying the foundation of the
robot riser.
• Floor should be horizontally levelled.
• Flatness: The flatness of the ground on which the riser is placed should have
a flatness of <3mm. If not, it is necessary to compensate by a coat of
no-shrinkage cement of not more than 10 to 15mm maximum, of type 702
® ®
CALFARGE, Embeco 885 or Embeco 636.
• Concrete thickness: should be ≥ 250 mm for concrete with cracked tension
zones of concrete components. On site tests are recommended if minimum
thickness is not met.
The following table displays the concrete class according to Euro code 2 equivalent
to C20/25 (ISO 4012).

Note
After screwing, fill the spacing between background and plate with injection
plaster HIT-RE 500SD using Ø9 holes.
Note
Use the following procedure to secure the robot riser to the concrete.
1 Place the riser and orient it with respect to the robot work location.
2 Drill the attachment holes considering the riser as a template.
Note
The effective anchorage depth and drilling depth are always defined from
top edge of concrete.
Note
Fill any gaps between the riser/base plate and foundation with:
• HILTI (Recommended) injection mortar for concrete “HIT -RE 500/330/1 "
(item 305074).
• Epoxy resin or similar fill. Make sure that the outer edges must be sealed
so that no sealant protrudes laterally under the base plate.
