SELECTED RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS


Managed all aspects of a company including development of business and marketing plans, recruitment, hiring and training of staff, budgeting, P&L, scheduling work and activities, establishing policies and procedures, performance evaluation, and motivation of employees. Increased operating free cash flow in a distressed company by implementing processes to manage cash along with a focus on the key financial and business metrics. Operating cash grew from $843k to over $7m in 2 years. Upgraded company technologies while reducing operating costs by negotiating $1.8M in 3-year term Cap Leases for equipment acquisitions to facilitate company growth in IT and Call Center areas. As part of this negotiation, reduced yearly maintenance agreements $120K. Reduced operating costs by centralizing the accounting, purchasing, IT and HR departments of the 5 companies comprising the corporation. Restructured the departments into a Shared Services Unit resulting in an annual savings of $2.2M. Enhanced morale and employee retention through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility along with new opportunities for training and performance incentives. Restructured the performance appraisal program, established competitive benefits, profit sharing and 401(k) plans. Employee turnover was reduced from over 25% per year to less than 4%. Served on over 6 corporate acquisition teams. Performed due diligence financial analysis, and the go no-go decisions that led to the successful merger, transition, and incorporation of these companies into our business portfolio. Improved cash flow through creation of a new tool that tracked leading and lagging metrics on a monthly basis of all the corporations companies. Decisions were made that increased profitability by $1.2M.

Turned around sales revenue by developing a comprehensive marketing plan that took into account, demographics, lead generation, the competition, and proven marketing techniques. Established weekly pipeline reports to track progress along with new performance incentives. New business was successfully increased 45% over the next 2 years. Established corporate lines of credit and renegotiated the companys debt structure to allow for building and equipment acquisitions for needed expansion. Corporate cash flows were stabilized allowing the company to grow. Turned around a company suffering from poor performance. Reviewed workflow, restructured the companys overhead, adjusted staff, and put in place new policies that reduced operating expenses by over 50%. The changes made reversed the previous years losses significantly. Leveraged the combined buying power of the corporations companies by centralizing the differing benefits plans that had been in place. Brought quality and consistency to the benefits within all the companies while reducing healthcare insurance costs 14%. Researched best practices and technologies available to initiate a new on-line newsletters, postcards and inserts product area in response to our competition. Succeeded in stabilizing sales in traditional markets with the 24% increase in sales off this new market segment.
