Tutoring program 2010 Week 2 Skill focused: Listening skill Topic: Living to eat, eating to live.
30 second-year mainstream students at Faculty of English Language Teacher Education, ULIS, VNU participating in Tutoring Program 2010 60 minutes
3. Objectives
-Skills focused: Note taking and Listening for specific information. -After the lesson, students will be able to: + get a better understanding of note taking and listening for specific information skills. + acquire some tactics to make use of the skills focused. + get better awareness of test-taking skills. + gain some knowledge about the theme: Food - Students have already learnt note-taking skills. - Students have had certain vocabulary of the theme. - Students have difficulty playing the warm-up game. - Students encounter difficulty in applying note-taking skills when doing the exercise. 7.1. Warm-up and Pre-listening - Supposed time: 12-15 minutes - Objectives: Lead students to the topic of the lesson - Instruction: + divide the whole class into 3 groups. + each group will be given 1 blank sheet of a nutrition pyramid and a pack of pictures of different food belonging to each part of the pyramid. + students are asked to work in group and complete the pyramid.
