INFRA MC system is an innovative system specifically designed and produced by Systema S.p.A. to heat battery chickens and pigs. Many installation, both in Italy and abroad, certify the constructive quality and the advantage of this 3rd millennium system. INFRA MC is the outstanding product developed in more than 15 years of R&D, of direct experiences as well as of monitoring of the systems installed in stalls. Very useful for Systema was, indeed, the cooperation with veterinarians and breeders because of their help in the data collection and analysis that enabled us to develop a specific product to heat chicks, quails, turkeys etc The statistical and technical data analysis for the development of MC, cwas possible thanks to the pilot installations and the technical-scientific study of many data which are essential for the breeding. The result is a great comfort for the animals which can enjoy the MC effect, that is the effect of the Mother of all the Chicks (sitting hen). As a matter of fact, many variables were taken into consideration before launching this product on the market: temperatures according to the weight of the animals and their age, air changes, days of the cycle, control of the morality among the animals, medicine assumptions, quality of the meat, fodder consumption, primary energy (e.g. gas, oil, electricity) consumption, lifting and fixing devices, computer managing systems, remote control, air quality with reference to CO and CO2 emissions both in the stall and outdoor. The data base containing all the above mentioned data and the following technical product configuration enabled Systema to design and improve INFRA MC, an excellent product for the animals breeding.

THE ADVANTAGES
INFRA MC, radiant system heats by direct radiation, taking the heat produced only in the selected zones. ADVANTAGES Direct heating of the surfaces and of the animals under the radiation cone. INFRA MC does not heat air directly. Air will be heated by the latent heat of the body of the animals, which are heated directly by infra-red radiations. Zone heating, with reference to the production cycles using electronic computer managing devices. The sitting hen effect is reproduced in an artificial environment, with excellent results.

HOW IT WORKS
WE RECREATED THE SITTING HEN EFFECT: INFRA MC radiant systems convey heat exclusively in the zones under their radiation cone. In this way, thanks to a direct heating, the sitting hen effect is reproduced artificially. Air is not heated directly, but is heated by the latent heat produced by the animals, which are heated by direct infra red radiations. Using this heating system, the animals looking for comfort will go under the radiation cone (the big "sitting hen").

The technical principle of the radiant system INFRA MC is based on the homogeneous distribution of the heat for the whole length of the appliance, thanks to a multisource distribution system.

The range enables the use of heat source 9-1218 metre long: 2 or more gas BAF 28 kW in series in the radiant system; Three phase exhaust fan downstream the radiant module; Radiant tube in aluminized stainless steel with siliconic paint and diameter according to the thermal power required; Reflecting canopy in stainless steel AISI 430; Support brackets and accessories in steel; Comburent air suction from outdoor; Outdoor blowdown of the combustion products; OPTIONAL: Electrical lifting system; Variable height from the floor according to the applications: min. 1.5 metres, max. 3 metres; Intense and even heating on the length of the radiant tube Max temperature of the radiant tube: 280/320C

In this phase the air changes are assured by 2 suitably sized fans, fresh air enters from the little PVC tubes and mix with the hot air in the higher part of the shed, bringing it in the lower part (destratification).

In this phase the need for heat is lower and the air changes increase; INFRA MC is lifted in order to enlarge the radiation cone. Thanks to the flaps opening, the depression in the shed is kept constant and the correct mix is assured.

In this phase the max capacity of air changes is required. A vacuometer measures the opening of the summer windows. Systema INFRA MC is lifted at the maximum height in order not to hinder the air flow.

In the last years, the decisions of the poultry industry have focussed on breeds which allow high meat production. These breeds need great heat and many air changes not only during the weaning phase, but also after it. In winter, because of the adverse weather conditions (cold, humidity etc.) it is needed to heat the stall constantly, but in a diversified way, according to the age of the animals. In case of stalls where the space is heated using traditional systems like ceramic heaters with direct flame (prohibited by law), the energy costs for heating are very high. GEN80 is, therefore, the ideal solution because it replaces the traditional systems allowing the users to save energy and increase the comfort.

THE WINNING SOLUTION GEN80 + INFRA MC

First phase: chick stall
In this phase a radiation cone is needed in order to re-create the sitting hen effect. INFRA MC will be on with Comfort Temperature (radiation)= 36C and Air Temperature = 33C. GEN80 will be off, because it is not necessary to heat the whole shed. Moreover, the chicks are still little. As a consequence the right performances and energy savings are assured.

Second phase: max. ventilation

In this phase, the max air changes is required. Since at this stage the animals are grew up, the "sitting hen" effect is no longer needed. Therefore, INFRA MC will be off and lifted at the max height in order to make easier for the air blown by GEN80 to circulate.

GEN80: THE FEATURES

GEN80 has the shell in stainless steel AISI 316, with

internal insulation anti-radiant and thermo-acoustic. IP44 protection, suitable for any weather condition. The generator was designed to be installed either outdoor or indoor of the shed to be heated. The installation is easy: it is carried out with small blocks with hooks, which enable to hang it on the wall. No shelves or brackets are needed. Air intake from the lower side of the appliance. Equipped with protective net to prevent intrusions. This enables to choose the air intake from outdoor or from the inner heated space, installing an intake plenum. The hot air generator is complete with air inlet duct, diffuser with steel fins, which allow to go through the wall when the appliance is installed outdoor No thermal inertia because the air entering the room is hot after just few seconds from the start of the appliance Thermal efficiency: 100% and no fumes exhaust.
