Dear Community Partner:

I would like to invite you exhibit at the Eighth Youth Development Conference to Inspire Community
Action entitled Me, We, Us: The Bridge to the Future on Thursday, December 11, 2008. This year’s
conference will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, PA., from 8:00 AM to
5:00 PM.

The Eighth Annual Youth Development Conference to Inspire Community Action is a one day event
that attracts over 700 high school youth, youth work professionals, and administrators from the Mid-
Atlantic Region. Conference participants gather to network and explore rich new ideas, recharge
their energies, and inspire their communities to help young people succeed. The conference serves
as a vehicle that promotes effective youth work practice and provides opportunities to establish
youth-adult partnerships. The conference also creates a platform for young people to use their
voices to create change in their communities, increase personal and professional training, influence
community program structure, and increase their social connections through interactive networking
sessions.

This year’s theme, “Me, We, Us: The Bridge to the Future” challenges us to shift our perspective from
a “Me” mentality to a “We” mentality to build a brighter future benefiting all of “Us.” The
conference will feature two workshop tracks - youth leadership development and
program/professional development - in recognition of the need for not only well-rounded youth in
the community, but also competent and compassionate youth workers to support youth and help
build the bridge to the future.
