TO APPly FOR THE TIM HETHERINGTON GRANT I DEClARE THAT: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. I am the author of the material or I am authorized to represent the material (e.g. stills, video, audio, etc) that I submit; I took part in a World Press Photo competition in 2008, 2009, 2010 or 2011; I accept that the jury appointed by the World Press Photo Foundation and Human Rights Watch will determine the winner of the Grant in its full discretion. I understand that there will be no correspondence about the result of the selection and that the jury will only give a statement on 5 November 2011; I guarantee that my project will be completed within 10 months after it is announced that I am the recipient of the Grant; The Grant will be paid out in two installments: a. 14.000 Euro will be paid on 15 November 2011; b. 6.000 Euro will be paid upon timely completion of the assignment; Upon proposal of the representatives of World Press Photo and Human Rights Watch, World Press Photo and Human Rights Watch shall be free to withhold or cancel the second installment if the work product does not comply with the proposal for which I have been awarded the Grant; I herewith give my permission to World Press Photo and/or Human Rights Watch to use the materials which I will submit in the context of this Grant: a. by any means (e.g. print or electronically) to promote and publicize the Tim Hetherington Grant; b. Full credit of authorship will always be given to me, the author; If World Press Photo and/or Human Rights Watch intend to publish the materials which I will submit in the context of this Grant otherwise than listed in clause 7 above, World Press Photo and/or Human Rights Watch will ask for my prior consent which I will not unreasonably withhold; I shall remain the owner to all other copyrights related to the materials which I will submit in the context of this Grant. However, the credit line will always include: Tim Hetherington Grant; The Tim Hetherington Grant, this application and my participation therein shall be governed by Dutch law. Any dispute arising out of, or in connection with my participation in the Tim Hetherington Grant shall be decided in exclusively by the competent courts at the seat of World Press Photo in The Netherlands.
