Background Information The increasing problem on pollution, the frequent soil erosions and flash floods occurring in various

parts of the country, the gradual destruction of the atmospheres ozone layer, and global warming are more than enough manifestations of mans indifference to gradual destruction of the only place in which we live-the planet earth. The role of plants in minimizing the gravity of the environmental demands an urgent attention from all sectors of the population to be aware and to help in any way one can to save planet Earth and make it a habitable place to live in. This study of plants should instill awareness and concern to our young students who shall inherit this Earth to preserve their environmental and to do something to help maintain ecological balance.
