PREFACE

The project title is POSITIONING OF EMKAY GLOBAL IN THE MARKET AGAINST THE COMPETITORS (DEMAT & INSURANCE) for knowing about the potential of the company in India. Under the guidance of Mr. JYOTISH PANDEY, I have tried to bring a lot of practical aspect to this topic. This theory is based on the real time work which has been done by me. This report brings into light the blend of the theoretical approach and real time practice. With the report an analysis on the share market in India is also given. The project is the outcome of a lot of hard work and sincere effort. The topic had a practical significance attached to it. Inferences have been drawn by taking primary data which was highly confidential. Though it was a difficult task to collect and combine data from the Channel partners, however with the coordination of Mr. JYOTISH PANDEY things became easier and the report finally found its way. Lot of reading, back to basics, discussions and thinking is given and then the conclusions are drawn. There is also usage of secondary data and the report is purely original and precise.

My first industrial experience has been a great experience because EMKAY GLOBAL FINANCIAL SERVICES LTD. not only allotted me a good project, but also a conducive working environment and a professional training which would really help me a lot in my future. This project is a collective effort of many people. I would like to thank Mr. Jyotish Pandey and Mr. Rakesh Kumar to not only guide me in my project work but also help me to gather as much as knowledge possible on this topic. He has always encouraged me to take up various topics and then see its feasibility. The entire officials and staff members had been highly cooperative and supportive. I never felt lost in the new industry culture of professionals. I got lot of support and care from my family during the tenure of the project. I would like to thank Dr. Kalpana Singh for supporting me during this project and providing me an opportunity to learn outside the class room. It was a truly wonderful learning experience. Stock Brokers Ltd. Emkay Global Financial Services Limited (Emkay) is an India-

based company. The Company is engaged in share and stock broking, and other related ancillary services. Emkay, along with its subsidiaries offers services to domestic mutual funds, hedge funds, banks, insurance companies, corporate houses and foreign institutional investors (FII). Emkay, caters to the financial needs of individuals, private clients, corporations and institutions with business activities organized in four segments: equities and derivatives broking, commodity broking, insurance broking and non banking financial company. Emkay offers the range of services in the financial sector, which includes private placement of equity, private equity, promoter funding, acquisition financing, project finance, qualified institutional placements, as well as advice on mergers and acquisitions and tax related issues. Its subsidiaries include Emkay Commontrade Limited, Emkay Insurance Brokers Limited and Emkay Fincap Limited. It operates through 350 branches and franchisees across 150+ cities.
