*We are not always ON schedule, but this schedule is a great way to keep us on track every day.

If we are late 10-15minutes here or there, its really not a big deal. At the end of the day, if we get our work done, its a success.

Weekly Schedule Details

Mom Wake Up! Prepare Breakfast : 5:00a-7:00a I wake up and tend to the baby, make breakfast ahead of time so that it can be served right away without delay. Set the table and set out cups for milk. Do as much as you can before the kids get up because once they are, everything takes longer. Make Ahead Breakfast Ideas: Hard boiled eggs, quiche, pancakes (warm in oven), home fries, oatmeal, homemade granola, cut up fruit, muffins, banana or zucchini bread, toast and jam, bacon. Laundry & Chores: 5:00a-7:00a One load of laundry a day is all I need to do to keep it under control. I throw in a load right away in the morning (at 5am) and by the time the kids get up, it is folded and can be put away during the morning wake up routine. I set the table and get breakfast ready. If I am cooking breakfast, I keep it warm in the oven or just on the stovetop. One chore a day in the early morning is also all it takes to keep the house clean and orderly. I am not (NOT!) going to be doing any chores during the school day or (hopefully) on the weekends other than preparing meals and doing dishes. I am going to be dedicating my time to teaching and enjoying the family. I can let go and have fun without feeling guilty that Ive not dusted or done the bathrooms. Wake Up Routine: 7:00a-7:30a 07:00 is reveille. The troops are expected to get themselves ready and rooms clean in 30 minutes or less with minimal assistance. Their duties consist of: Going to the bathroom right away, getting dressed (from clothes that I pick out, no arguments), put away pajamas, brush teeth, wash face, brush hair, make bed and tidy rooms. They are able to do this quickly while I help with each chore. I make sure they are doing things thoroughly and no dawdling. Its usually done before 7:30a. Morning and Breakfast 7:30a-8:00a After everyone comes down, we get Dad and wait for him to say Morning Prayers. We can play around a little while we wait. Prayers take about 15 minutes. We say them in the living room in front of the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts. Morning Prayers: Our morning prayers are taken out of the book Christian Warfare We say a Spiritual Communion, the Saint Michael Prayer and the Sacred Heart Prayer. We say the Seven Sorrows and the Commemoration of the Precious Blood of Jesus. We say the Angelus and our Before Meal Prayers. The table is already set. We sit down and eat! I believe home education include teaching them manners and etiquette. We have a 3 strike rule. 3 strikes and I take your food and you can finish at the beginning of the next meal.

Strikes can include: no knees up at the table, no elbows, no picking or nibbling your food, no twisting and climbing on the chairs, no rowdiness, kicking or touching others plates, no burping and the like, no pigging out and making a mess. Most of all, no complaining!! I also remind them not to waste this opportunity to offer up this difficulty to the poor souls in purgatory for some other special intention. It only works if the refrain from complaining and keep it to themselves. I suggest saying a small prayer to Saint Therese who always ate whatever came her way, even the things that she hated the most. She was so successful in overcoming this difficulty that the other nuns thought that they were her favorite meals and gave them to her even more frequently! This might seem a little OCD but believe me it makes for a very pleasant meal. I have a 7, 5, 4, 2 year old and an infant. It CAN be done! School Begins: We say a prayer to begin our lessons. Potty Breaks between all lessons 8:00a-9:30a 8:30a
